Mice Group (MEG): Robbie Burns just bought in.....more (MEG)

molatovkid - 24 Feb 2004 18:23

The article is as follows:

Two new trades both made yesterday late afternoon. First a new buy 6,200 shares in Mice Group (MEG) at 75p. Stop Loss 68p, Target 100p. The buy is already going well the price has moved to 76-79 as I write.

Thereve been a few false dawns before on this exhibitions group but I think this time a rise up to around 100p (plus a dividend) looks probable. Three things spurred me on to buy.

Firstly, there are bullish noises coming out of the company. Mice has been making various presentations to institutions which have been going well. Broker Investec has also made Mice a buy.

Secondly the company (who hosts exhibitions) was hit by the Iraq war and Sars but is now recovering well. And thirdly Im no great chart reader but it looks like a buy signal to me!

To fund the Mice purchase I sold the weakest link which isnt really that weak but I went for taking profits in Jubilee Investment Trust and sold my 7,500 shares for 61p. That netted a profit of 375, taking banked profits for the website to 111,754

Thanks for that.

I'm confused about this one. I've waited years for it to be cheap and the time has arrived.

But, fears of a rights issue, management change and high debt, combined with an iffy article in the IC and the recent sell off leave me wondering. Why buy?

hightech - 17 Feb 2005 09:54 - 6 of 22

Why why? confused!

queen1 - 09 Sep 2005 10:01 - 7 of 22

Not many mice been scurrying around on here for sometime. Is anyone still in?

driver - 10 Sep 2005 00:10 - 8 of 22

Got out at about 75p I think, is it time to go back in.

queen1 - 10 Sep 2005 15:01 - 9 of 22

Well I've just got in driver as I think business is on the turn and prospects in Mice's wider markets look good. It would be nice to think that the bottom is behind us (?!) and I think we're moving on up.

queen1 - 07 Feb 2006 22:30 - 10 of 22

A nice little rise up today after a long period languishing. Is this the turn?

knute - 16 Feb 2006 11:35 - 11 of 22

I think your question has been answered, queen1.
This rise is on the back of very large buying by GAM and maybe someone else. There should be a further holdings RNS shortly.
I am surprised not to see any other recent comments here.
Their year end is 28 Feb and last year results were issued 16th May.
Trading update in a week or two with luck.
Cash flow and credit management will be the items to watch almost as much as profit imho.

queen1 - 16 Feb 2006 21:51 - 12 of 22

I bought at 35p knute and have watched the sp fall or stagnate ever since so this is starting to look as though my original faith in the company wasn't misplaced after all.....at least I hope not!

knute - 18 Feb 2006 09:13 - 13 of 22

The 1meg late buy after the close @ 37p gives hope for Monday. At last we're trading above the placing issue price.
I'm a little surprised we haven't had any further RNS yet.

driver - 18 Feb 2006 14:02 - 14 of 22

I like this company I sold at about 85p on the way down it now looks interesting.

movinup - 18 May 2006 13:55 - 15 of 22

MICE Group Plc
Statement re suspension

The Board of MICE Group Plc ('the Company') announces that following the trading
updates made on 26 April and 14 May 2007, the Company is engaged in ongoing
discussions with its lenders with a view to the lenders making a limited amount
of new money available to the Group. In the meantime discussions are also
ongoing with a number of parties that might be interested in providing
additional funding to the Group although these discussions are at an early
stage. The Board is concerned that the Company would have insufficient funds to
continue trading unless such additional funding from interested parties can be
secured in the short-term. The Board has therefore requested that trading in its
shares be suspended until the Company's financial position can be clarified.
