chartist2004. Sorry did not want to start new thread, but I also follow these, and thought they should be on the investers thread as well. I could not transfer yours over.
optomistis. You could well be right, whatever it is,I'm glad to see it doing well again today.

roma
Pleased you posted on Investors Room, I do not have access to 'tother board'
Kelda does look to be firming up niceley and if the regulator is not too unkind we could be in for some good gains later in the year.

optomistic - 07 May 2004 09:49 - 6 of 16

Kelda having a good time recently, doing well this morning so far, hope it keeps up, perhaps this could be the start of a serious market re rating for Kelda?
LOL all

Yes it looks a good share! I hold Severn Trent(have for about 2 years now)
and the profit sitting in it now due to recent price increases
is making me start to look around! (Itchy profit/trigger finger syndrome!)
I'm weighing up selling S.Trent (pocketing the profit) and
replacing it with another water share paying close on the same for
less investment. S.Trent comes in just over the 6.5% mark on yield,
there seems a couple that come in very close to that and are cheaper
to buy....Kelda and Pennon look the best bets on price
and divi. yield, but off to research properly....

stockbunny - 07 May 2004 15:56 - 8 of 16

Rats!
Pennon - yield good but price too high to buy enough to bring the
same yield as currently have on SVT.
Kelda - again not quite there - need SVT to put on more 'weight'
pricewise to allow buying over 1 1/2 kelda for each SVT to balance divi.
Oh well, will watch how things go.
(SVT yield 45.9p/KEL yield 26.05p/PNN yield 39p)
The profit in SVT is tempting but used to the divi!!

stockbunny, been in Kelda some while and on good yeild on original purchases, I will probably be in these some while yet, I am very hopeful they have a long way to go (with good fortune in the right direction) haven't seen the price this PM better have a look now!!

stockbunny - 07 May 2004 16:27 - 10 of 16

Today is a day when we all should have had a portfolio of just
water company shares..we would have made a small fortune!!

optomistic - 10 Nov 2004 10:34 - 11 of 16

Not what you would call a busy thread this one. I will bring it back to life to see if anyone can throw any light on why KEL is having such a bad time these last few days, down again this AM.

optomistic - 22 Dec 2004 17:31 - 12 of 16

Looking back on my last post, hasn't things changed, now over 6 and looking strong (but always wary of corrections)
Anyone any views now as to where Kelda is going next up/down?

chocolat - 22 Dec 2004 19:10 - 13 of 16

Just for you opto ;)

graph.php?enableFastStochastic=true&pdFa

A re-test of 560/70 looks possible

optomistic - 23 Dec 2004 20:24 - 14 of 16

Thanks Chocolat for the input, now I need a little guidance here. I have never been able to understand these stochastic thingies, any chance of you explaining how to obtain guidance from the indicator?

chocolat - 24 Dec 2004 00:46 - 15 of 16

You picked a fine time to ask me now! But when a fella nips out to get you the best beans in the world, how can I resist? Well I'm done with chores today, so a quick slurp and a nibble and I'll begin..

chocolat - 24 Dec 2004 02:10 - 16 of 16

Ok opto - this is upside down, because you need to understand RSIs and MAs as well, but I'll start with stochastics, seeing as you asked (and bear in mind I'm a bit fuzzy now). The stoch indicator can identify near term tops and bottoms to help in timing trades closer to reversal points. It's the measurement of a placement of a current price within a recent trading range. The theory is, that as prices rise, closes tend to occur nearer to the high end of their recent range. When prices trend higher and closes begin to sag within the range, this signals internal market weakness. Stochastics is one of a few indicators that uses 2 lines, referred to as the K and D lines (sometimes known as %K and %D) The D line is simply a smoothed version of the K, and the 2 of them are analysed for both overbought and oversold situations - just like RSI. 2 lines give the added dimension of crossovers, which are similar to price crossovers of moving averages (MAs).\

Oh 'eck - that's it for now...I'm sagging too.
