Changes to the bulletin board.

TullettJ (MoneyAM) - 25 Feb 2004 17:07

Hello.

I have been making a few changes to the bulletin boards over the last few days.

The thread titles are now displayed in different colours depending on that threads status. The colours are:

Green: It is a thread that you started
Blue: This thread is completely unread
Black: You have read this thread, but there are new posts
Grey: You have read this thread and there are no new posts

I hope these are ok, and improve your BB experience on MoneyAM.

Any comments, please post below.
J.

fundamentalist,

you mean more vibrant?

possibly, but not now, this is a prelude to other changes on the BBs. Once thsoe are done, I could possibly change them...

I agree with Fundamentalist i.e.distinctive.Primary colours will achieve this
vibrant/clear result.

Is there any chance of putting separate threads on the same Company together?
eg there are two threads on FFA on the main list page, so goodness knows how many altogether. The whole thing is addictive & very time consuming as Grandpa still hasn't gone over to Broadband.

TullettJ (MoneyAM) - 25 Feb 2004 21:02 - 7 of 24

Grandma,

Different threads on the same company becuase they may contain different views or be talking about different aspects.

Generally we do encourage people to post onto existing threads if the topic is the same, but quite often it is different.

Hi Ian - Would it be possible to remove the 'spikes'12400 in Dec on the Nikkei 225 chart on the year chart. TIA.
Cheers....

Tullet

I think Happy1 means that as the search for epic on "stockwatch" does not work is it possible to have this function either repaired or put elsewhere.

Many thanks for the update

TullettJ (MoneyAM) - 26 Feb 2004 17:10 - 17 of 24

angi,

i will be looking at the search routines shortly. Everything will be easier once the new version of the BBs go live tomorrow morning.

A thread that is black, but now no longer of interest--Can I change it to blue ?

TullettJ (MoneyAM) - 27 Feb 2004 04:59 - 19 of 24

davidgee2,

ooh, this is an interesting idea, and one that may be doable in the filter I am planning to write for the BB, can you bear with me on it? Im not promising anything, but there is a good possibility...

Socrates - 27 Feb 2004 07:15 - 20 of 24

Regards favourite boards, it would be nice to be able to access a list of available boards for a company straight from the stockwatch page. That way you can immediately see what is being added/said about your interest.

TullettJ (MoneyAM) - 27 Feb 2004 07:23 - 21 of 24

Socrates,

If you click on the EPIC in the stockwatch, you are taken to the quote screen which shows you a list of the threads for that stock.
