Traders Thread - Thursday 26th August (TRAD)

Greystone - 26 Aug 2004 06:20

Greystone - 26 Aug 2004 07:12 - 4 of 14

Manchester United PLC said that following media speculation,it confirms it has made a bid to Everton Football Club for Wayne Rooney.

It said a futher announcement will only be made if there is an agreement with Everton and the player.

Is that good for MNU shares or bad?

Fundamentalist - 26 Aug 2004 10:04 - 12 of 14

Morning all

I would expect the bid for Rooney will be seen as good news as long as they dont pay more than 20-22m - Everton claim to be holding out for 30m.

Melnibone - 26 Aug 2004 13:07 - 13 of 14

Afternoon all.

FTSE took out the last swing high this morning, so theoretically
I should be looking for an entry point for a long back towards
the top of the range.

I don't like the way that it just squeaked it on a gap open on
what looked like to me was a US short covering rally. It didn't
trade its way above it.

US hasn't taken out the last swing highs, yet.
So for me, the jury is still out. I'll take longs if the US
trades strongly through the last highs on good volume.
Meanwhile, just the usual small, intraday, blue chip scalps.

Melnibone.
