No shares mag today?

Ted1 - 05 Aug 2004 11:52

Guys,
I haven't had your wicked mag today! Anyone else had probs or is it just me.

Juzzle - 05 Aug 2004 13:48 - 4 of 26

I'm not a Shmag subscriber, but have heard from two others who didn't get theirs yet either. One in Warks, one Glos. so it may be a glitch further up the distribution chain rather than local post. In my time as a postie most such occurences were down to a complete sack or pallet having been put on a wrong train or truck and taking a few hours to come back round.

stockbunny - 05 Aug 2004 13:58 - 5 of 26

Got mine today, but some weeks the postman can't be asked until Friday
it'll arrive tomorrow.

scotinvestor - 05 Aug 2004 14:42 - 6 of 26

probably a good thing not getting it as its tips are awful. Worse than awful actually. That Tim Freeborn guy couldnt tip rubbish. He's ramped Earthport for months - at least 3 times its been mentioned and its on verge of dying now.
I could name at least 12 companies that have been a disaster since late last year - totally dreadful

Ted1 - 05 Aug 2004 15:43 - 7 of 26

Seems I've opened a can of worms. Scoti try this tip FAR. Bound to be better than the mag if what you say is true.

angi - 05 Aug 2004 16:39 - 8 of 26

I hardly bother to read it now and if it weren't for moneyam.com I'd cancel my subscription. They aren't interested in reader's fortune, just the advertisers and of course ramping their own mistakes. They push spreadbetting so much the mag should not be called shares, even gambling.

daves dazzlers - 05 Aug 2004 16:58 - 9 of 26

spot on scotinvestor its crap info , and its well out of date, well before its got to print.
any 6 of us could do better, but we would be taking a drop in earnings.

Abbie2u - 05 Aug 2004 17:03 - 10 of 26

Angi.I agree i.e. advertisers = money

Pete Adams - 06 Aug 2004 10:12 - 11 of 26

Just got my fridays post, but Shares mag still hasn't arrived.

IanT(MoneyAM) - 06 Aug 2004 10:17 - 12 of 26

Pete,

I will also pass your details onto Shares, and send you a copy for your records.

Ian

scotinvestor - 06 Aug 2004 11:58 - 13 of 26

how do you manage to become a tipster on Shares Mag?

I definitely think i could write 3 or 4 articles a month at least on buying certain companies that will be much more informative and give better reasons for buying, ie. the fundamentals, management etc.

And thats just me in my wee bedroom each night. Now, imagine what its like getting city whispers in London every day.
I could do with a coiuple of insider dealings.

Abbie2u - 06 Aug 2004 12:11 - 14 of 26

Tipsters get paid for playing games with other peoples money.

Ted1 - 06 Aug 2004 12:13 - 15 of 26

Still no mag today!
Scoti why don't you write a couple of reports and post them on here. Let everyone know how good you are. Maybe money-am will give you a job.

Abbie2u - 06 Aug 2004 12:47 - 16 of 26

Hi Ted1,

Scoti is not saying he is great - just better than the tipster. This is not
difficult as 70 per cent - in my opinion - of posters have a better track
record than most tipsters.

daves dazzlers - 06 Aug 2004 21:29 - 17 of 26

scotinvestor, and all.it mite be worth starting a thread on individual ,call it what you will{tips, feelings, etc}.what do you think,,,,,pros v amat,,us lot the pro`s of course.

Fred1new - 07 Aug 2004 14:54 - 18 of 26

Ted1, have you paid your subscription? :-))

Dave, have you found somebody prepared to pay you!!

:-)

Are there any more jobs going?

daves dazzlers - 08 Aug 2004 21:38 - 19 of 26

wish full,fred 1 new,wish full.

bosley - 09 Aug 2004 08:36 - 20 of 26

IanT(MoneyAM) - 09 Aug 2004 08:40 - 22 of 26

Come now chaps it's not THAT bad, is it?
I go to my branch of WH Smith (until it closes!) and enjoy reading the Mag cover to cover, except the fine-print pages of "tables" (the data is obtainable from this site and it temds to be the larger companies) - and anything to do with spread-betting/CFD's I miss out. The reader's page is slightly interesting except when the q & A are quite long. There are many advertisements telling us hhow popular Spreadbetting is - well, I don't think so.

It's a pity buying hard-copy regularly can't count as a "subscription" as the post here is dreadfully slow and I need the morning exercise...

Earthport does look like a case for the knackers, but fortunes can change quickly...
