I use Fins, IG and just opend a Capital Spreads account but not used it yet. Trouble sometimes with IG is that it can take a while to get your bet opened/closed. Fins seems to be much quicker but the spreads are quite wide on some stuff. I use them mainly for indices and quite happy with 2 point spread on the 100 rolling.
Had a quick look at Mans. Currently they quote spread of 1.2 June on Vod but with Capital it is .48 for June.

Prop,
Just had a quick look again at Mans. Spreads seem a touch more than Capital.
Individual 100 rolling shares seem to be 0.2% and Capital is 0.1%. Have a look and see what you think.

Hi Adam,
I guess that everyone will have different experiences both good and bad with different companies. I like IG for the fact that they seem to have the largest coverage of the small caps and I do like the small caps. Agree with the hanging when trying to enter a trade, can be very annoying in a fast moving market when you dont get the price you were looking for. They also offer guaranteed stops if thats for you, but you pay extra to open them.
Been dealing a lot of the indices lately and they move fast as you know, but have never had a problem getting an order in with Fins. But you seem to get a better price on small cap shares from IG than Fins. I know a lot of people say the best spreads come from D4F, but I've never used them so cant comment. Capitalspreads spreads seem pretty good to me, but not used my account yet. Will let you know how I get on.
Would be good if people could put down the pro's and con's of each company on this thread as no doubt it would help us all. Cheers for starting the thread Adam.

Updated.
No problem. That was the general idea, but as I only have used Capital and IG I can't list all the pros and cons, so feedback appreciated.
I think this topic is especially apt this week as people clamber to sell to cover CGT or to realise loses.

Here's the link for D4F

How have you got on with Capital? Have you been able to get your orders on okay with them? I notice from their website that they say of you dont get confirmation of your trade in 25 seconds then you should phone them to check it went through. Has this ever happend to you Adam?

I have only used their demo account so far (yet to go live), but had no problem with that.
All firms say that though, but it is strange that they put a figure to it. A lot can happen in 25 seconds, although I have waited longer than that with IG and they give no warning.
Cheers for the link. Added.
