PLASMONs New Data Storeage Technology Looks Interesting. (PLM)

Amvescap have quietly built up a 19% stake.
Looks like they saw yesterday's dire market conditions as a chance to pick up some more.

PLM has fallen a long way recently because it said it does not expect to move into profitability until the second half of the next financial year.

Looks like the fall has been overdone, it has started to move up again this month.

Recently near 20p. . . . . looks a tad oversold, but what has come of their "exciting technology?" - has there been a problem - and why is there no interest here anymore?
I know there are competing technologies for computer data, but CD's are an established means and I would have thought they represent a "safety-net" by virtue they are understood to survive over time. If everything goes-down all the "written CD's" are unlikely to change and represent a snap-shot of the Data - isn't this what they do?
Perhaps they have seen a reduction in sales due to people using the internet as a store, on the basis that not-everywhere will fail at the same moment...could this be the nub of the problem?

I had these in 2003 and got out when it was knocking around 200+.
It's another share that never delivered a profit or dividend.
All hype like NTX the speaker firm and many more.

hangon - 29 May 2008 18:58 - 6 of 11

Grief these are low now . . . almost looks like a funding special - or is there a massive debt about to be rather expensive to replace?

Yes, I agree many tech co never delivered, but NTX isn't all that bad - did you ever follow Feonic (on Plus which is hardly . . . . ), that was so bad the most valuable thing of value on posting the shares back = is the stamp.
(Grief their pich was LOUD, but sales a wisper.).
I reserve my fire for NTX as they appear to be getting orders . . . . maybe...?

6p to buy, yet today (Friday) the whole day shows red ( Sells).
Oh deary.

(EDIT)
Peter011....do you have any view on the value here? I understand the sp from past-times was partly "markets" and today it is "funding woes" (brought on by Sub-prime etc etc.)....yet the sp is more a function of "fear" than any inherent lack of technology - where [PLM] appears to be up with the best.
Ah, a crystal ball! a read-once perhaps

18 June 08 -
- Compare this site with PlusMarkets Group -

Here, this stock shows no sp change and 85,000-odd traded shares. (Mid 5.13 pence at close.).

PlusMarkets shows 50,000-odd traded shares and a 14% fall in sp (Mid 4.625 at close)

Anyone here understand this difference?
I can accept that during the day, different platforms will have more-or-less stock and adjust their price. . . . however at the end-of-day I'd expect the prices to be pretty close . . . . . so why the difference?
Furthermore, what does this mean to us investors?

hangon - 08 Aug 2008 10:29 - 9 of 11

Oh dear, refinancing required - presumably at a Disciount - well that sent the shares down to 1.15 to Buy (today).
... Expect a funding sub 1p so the City and Execs can get snouts in.
Arrgh! . . . . . a year ago this was 45p - had you invested a round 10Grand, it would now be sub 250.

-Yet data storage is something we need - or is it? I've suggested before there are plenty of on-line storage factilities and with a bit of luck they'll do.
This co needs to address their lack of Umph! - for without the ability to stand up and shout their wares they'll continue to lose sales.
+What a shower!
No, I don't hold yet . . . . smart eh; or was it obvious, even to moi?

EDIT 02Sept08 - 0.9p - 1.2p Ooo-er, this is looking very sickly. ( Down 17.5% )

tomasz - 05 Sep 2008 12:19 - 10 of 11

25mil agreement looks ok ,should jump up a bit

hangon - 10 Sep 2008 18:12 - 11 of 11

Latest RNS appears to say the company is supporting the data-industry and customers - but I read NOTHING about their investors!

Are they to be left in the lurch - for that what the SP is saying!
Look at the fall as Execs hoped "something would turn up" - this has fallen from 35p just 52 weeks ago! - Yikes!

Don't these Directors have a duty to create returns for all classes of investor?
It's not looking good, is it?
