anyone out there who lends via zopa comments please.

rampton,

Ok thanks for that, I'll give it a miss then!

I wondered what sort of security they offered.

Andy, from memory (I looked into it over a year ago) I don't think there was any, but you lent a fraction of your money to hundreds of different people and the theory was there would only be a small percentage of bad debts in the whole lot. If you wanted to borrow money, it seems you could get good rates, but it didn't seem attractive at all to the lenders. There was a thread about it in the traders room when it first started, maybe if you put in the epic ZOPA, it might come up.

I know there's at least one trader's BB regular poster who lends via Zopa - I'll point him in this thread's direction.

Well its 2008 and zopa.com is going from Strength to Strength. I am coming
across a few people who have been a lender for a couple of years, and
overall have been happy with the return. The amount of bad debt has been
relatively small. I've been told that as long as the risk is spread it does not
become a problem. I recently join, just a small amount, to find out for
myself. Lending only 10 per person on (over 36-60 months), at the
moment.

With what is going on out there - it can't be any worse, and as part of a
spread of places, another one to use. Certainly seems to have more going
for it than the banks

Little Woman.
I have also lent on Zopa this year and I`ve found it very rewarding.
I have started with a modest amount like yourself but I am looking to add more funds.
