Should I sell my ADVFN shares? (AFN)

Stuckinrut - 18 Feb 2003 10:04

Been a holder for too long but now getting very nervous, bought at 6p. The share price has held up in the last few months but looks like the market makers were dumping stock yesterday. I presume there are some concerns now that they have a competitor but also at a stroke they have wiped out some of their income and path to profits by reducing prices last week.

I sold 100,000 yesterday and am in 2 minds what to do next, anyone holding or selling? Anyone know how much cash they have left as its not too clear from the Annual Report?

Thanks Stuckinrut

is it really worth it, could only get 2.8p at most

Andy - 05 Jul 2008 02:07 - 47 of 91

It may be longer than the morning.

We have just received a call at my company asking for any possible technical help, and we are not the provider, and have no connection at all!

They are looking for electricians for Colt Telecom to help out as total power failure in their building, I presume that is where ADVFN is hosted.

@DVFN is currently unavailable due to a general power failure at our hosting facility.

July 5th 2008 00:30: Our hosting providers are not providing an ETA for power restoration. They have found the fault and are now testing both sets of of power supply systems. When both sets have been tested they will gradually start supplying power to the data center.

When power is restored our engineers will bringing services on-line.

We apologise for any inconvenience this has caused.

I don't know whether to sell the shares but as I haven't been able to connect to the site for the last 20 hours, I'm wondering whether they've gone out of business.

KenBachelor - 05 Jul 2008 08:31 - 51 of 91

Sorry - I should have read the posts before I posted that.

PATHETIC .. unless thre's more to it than a power failure ... The 'great US power failures' didn't take this long to resolve.

Anyone know who owns COLT at the moment. Still down.

This outrage must be costing a lot PLUS liability (query subject to contracts) for 3rd party damages.
