Oilexco Stands Out As Cheap Stock KBC PeelHunt (OIL)

brianboru - 09 Aug 2005 21:51

We all need a couple of oilies in our portfolio - this one's not without it's risks but still plenty potential upside.

Oilexco (BUY) looks a stand-out cheap stock. This is partly a reflection of its high asset concentration, with effectively all the value in the UK North Sea Brenda field. While it is not without risk in terms of reservoir performance, the field has been thoroughly appraised and with the key contracts having been signed, delivery of first oil mid-2006 looks fairly secure. Forthcoming exploration and appraisal drilling on 3-4 other North Sea prospects and fields provide a few shots at significant value upside as well.

unluckyboy, patience is the name of the game.Profit takers last week brought the SP down some, but thats the stockmarket nothing goes up all the time, makes for
a health market. News will come in the not to distant future of Ptarmigan, which
as we know is a appraisal well before revisiting discovery Shelley for delineation. And then back to our biggy Huntington and whoosh.

unluckyboy - 25 Jun 2007 16:51 - 44 of 91

niceonecyril, have you read anything on roxi petroleum been watching for a couple of weeks and noticed a few big companys buying in. up 10 1/2 last week to 65p and up today 7% may be a good one to watch.

unlucky, no i haven;t researched roxi, although i believe its touted as a new MXP.
Looking at CDL at the moment, good news for OIL about the transfer to main market.

niceonecyril - 29 Jun 2007 12:49 - 47 of 91

OIL joined the main market today, should help in the long term, though no great rush at the moment.

niceonecyril - 17 Jul 2007 10:15 - 48 of 91

I feel news is just around the corner, with Ptarmigan(appraisal) being drilled at this moment along with Oddjob(exploration). Awaiting results of the 4th well sunk into the Brenda/Nicol proven field.

niceonecyril - 12 Aug 2007 21:16 - 49 of 91

Some news due out anyday now, with so much activity going on? Brenda4th well,
Ptarmigan and now Oddjob all complete (evidence from the movement of rigs
Ocean Gardian and Sedco 712 can be traced via

Also an interview with Jean- Francious Trandiff of Sprott Asset Management on BNN stated he will not be selling but topping up on dips, which is what we've have at this moment.

Can't understand why, the above is not working. if you type manually into the address box it should work?
From the info it quite easy to follow, and of course they only move once the
wells are complete. For those not up to speed you might require entering the companies web site.

A good rise this week shame about today but cannot grumble.Does anyone know of any reason why it has gone up, are there some results to come out.?

unluckyboy - 16 Oct 2007 09:50 - 52 of 91

Morning all.Something is going on here but nothing is being posted, all i know is that the drilling results are due towards the end of the year.
Started up today @ 50p to 9.10 but slowly coming down hopfully not to far down.

hepbuvl - 18 Oct 2007 18:23 - 53 of 91

I know for a fact the Ptarmigan well wasnt much of a success. Not seen any figures out yet but i've been told the well was a major disapointment.

required field - 01 Jan 2008 10:56 - 58 of 91

Please correct me if I am wrong, (unluckyboy or niceonecyril), this is listed on the main market, so should be eligible for a Maxi-Isa, I tried to get some last week and it comes up as : not suitable for an Isa, is it me or has my broker got this wrong ?

niceonecyril - 01 Jan 2008 18:15 - 59 of 91

Yes you are correct, i hold mine in a ISA. It qualifies as a duel list company, TSX
and AIM, hope this helps?
Happy 2008 to all.
