I use Outlook simply to hold my diary and address book on my PC and PDA. I would not want to upgrade as all the other gizmos would never get used.

I have a handy program called RKopie that pumps my local files to my office server and thus provides a daily back-up to things that are critical and changing. I tried to include that .pst file but it ignored it. Anyway I now see how it can be done - albeit with rather more key strokes.

You can try this:

1. Click Start and select Run

2. In the Open field type "rundll32.exe keymgr.dll, KRShowKeyMgr"

3. Once the Stored Usernames and Passwords interface opens you can select any of the entries and select Properties to view the existing information

4. To remove a saved password you can select one of the entries and select Remove. A confirmation screen will appear. Click on OK and the account will be removed

5. You can add additional saved passwords as well by clicking on the Add button and entering the appropriate information

6. Repeat the steps above as needed to add, remove or edit saved passwords

7. When you are done using the interface click the Close button

If it is not listed here then it is a cookie and you can remove it my clicking Tools/Internet Options/Settings/View Files and find the Cookies related to that particular site and delete them.

It took me ages to find a `hack` for an 8" DVD player, to turn it into multi-region,
I thought it was now illegal for suppliers to fix the region ?, only the dimmest ones either don`t do it for you, or say they aren`t allowed too- multi-region players are advertised openly, so what is the position??

Use avg for anti virus (free)

Use zone alarm for software firewall (free)

Use a router for hardware firewall (not too expensive)

Use Ccleaner to clean up windows ( free at http://www.ccleaner.com/update/?v=1.26.218&l=1033)

Use spybot for spyware issues (free)

use task manager to check on background nuisance system hoggers (http://www.answersthatwork.com/Tasklist_pages/tasklist.htm)

Hmmm? I detect a note of dissatisfaction or complaint in your post before you proffer your 'Thanks Doc' comment.

By the term 'ad blocking' I presume you mean 'pop-up blocking'?

None of the stuff I have mentioned concerning Antivirus Protection or Spyware and Malware detection and removal does that, but anyway, here's how to block Pop-Ups:-

In your browser Tool Bar click on Tools, then Internet Options.

Then select the Privacy tab and tick the box at the bottom of the window in the Pop-up Blocker Section to, well, do as it says and "Prevent most pop-up windows from appearing".

Docproc , no not pop-ups , yahoo deals with them , its all the boxes scattered about this site and others i want rid of. the constant flickering drives me nuts. When Norton was there all i got was empty boxes.

what is the best way to stop a friends children!!!!!!!!!!(aged 9, 12 and 21 ) from looking at porn etc on the web.
They are know plaged by pop ups appearing which is causing problems as customers in the office can see them.........

using xp with I.Explorer. They have Norton Internet security 2006.
I want to block them accsesing the sites in the first place. ie " sex,porn,violence, etc.

any easy way to do it without blocking each site as they appear.

Graeme, if they are plagued by pop ups then it is most likely that the computer has caught a virus. Do a full virus scan and scan for malware too.

Just taken up an offer of a free security sweep by Panda Software which diagnosed my computer was infected with Demo-GFI.A I can't get my head round the Google references for this Trojan. Should I be worried about it? Is it necessary to remove it? How do I remove it? Any comments greatly appreciated.

I use NTL Broadband. Generally OK but customer service pretty awful if you do have a problem. Also watch out for the usual scenario of when they offer you a free upgrade, the small print means you commit to another twelve month contract with them. I have been caught out.

Totally ignorant about this really but my understanding was that although NTL may offer 10mb, your telephone line may not be able to accept faster than 2mb - don't know if that makes sense!!
