No, I think you mean Lax or Duz!

Is it time for a brew? I'll light a bonfire under the kettle.

snoball - 01 Feb 2004 14:03 - 4052 of 23498

Who let the bonfire under the kettle go out?

BTW Dax is German washing powder.

Socrates - 01 Feb 2004 17:27 - 4053 of 23498

Has that kettle boiled yet? Just been out trolley racing and antique fair loitering. Started home down the M5 and the heavens opened, no drought here for sure. River Severn looked almost level with the road at Upton, locals must be getting quite worried.

To get back to washing powder, does anyone remember Rinso and Oxydil, and whatever happened to tide, did it just ebb away?

This_is_me - 01 Feb 2004 18:20 - 4054 of 23498

OMO was the real stuff for washing; so my granny said.

jeffmack - 01 Feb 2004 19:00 - 4055 of 23498

Who mentioned OMO

Golddog - 01 Feb 2004 19:22 - 4056 of 23498

Ravey..thats it then, your birthday contribution, I like that joke.Saw the great Harry Webb at 'Two Eyes'.
I bloody hated 30,really was the only birthday I didn't want to happen, 20,40 even 50 no worries, I know where on the hill of life I am, but 30!!!
Out of radio 1 onto 2 and JY prog, bet you get slippers at Crimble...you'll see!!! and maybe, fanfare of trumpets, a hot water bottle knitted cover!!!WOW.
.
I was between marriages, not met the present mrs.lw, looking after a couple of the fairer sex, 'Dancing Queen' was no.1, still had a gay time without lifting shirt tails. Had a brand spanking new Ford Capri 1.6 GL sort of deep yellow with brown imitation leather interior! Thought it was the biz.
Four of us took it down to Nice, we all stayed on the attic floor above a friends restaurant there, the girls didn't mind the closeness of things, nudge, nudge I wonder what happened to them, prob. married to a barrister or something.
Anyway, have a superb night 'cos it's the beginning of the end...lw

Hi Everyone, the twerp from Antwerp here, got an invite yesterday to stick my nose into this den of in-equity? As I regularly sign off threads with 'going out to one of my bars/cafe to read my Telegraph and have a nice Belgian cigar, [they are v.nice], I thought a change of venue may be enlightening, also, of course, [baby]it's cold outside.
Is it waitress service here like those nice SFI places with chromium plated poles all around. Ah yes, thought so, that would be the sort of place I'd find Jeff and Hils. hanging out at.

Oh, and before I break any unknown rules what's the SP on passing wind, swearing and doing a touch of ganja?

I'm so bored this a.m., portfolio is awful, as are my followers, stocks of interest etc. THE LOT! What am I to do?
Wait, there's a light, a star, looks like a GEM sparkling from the direction of Petra.
Sorry I haven't touched my coffee but I must away, nice meeting you all, don't forget to answer...lw

jgp212 - 13 Dec'01 - 11:14 - 9851 of 10599

littlewillie! I feel rather sorry for you!

With a little willy and a portfolio looking sad I am
not suprised so to speak.

Move to Hampshire!

:-)

Jeff.

8 Ball - 01 Feb 2004 20:31 - 4059 of 23498

Jeff is much nicer these days, must be mellowing with age.

Socs That tide went out.

Can anyone help me with the name of a walls ice cream from the 80's.
It was pink at the bottom half, with hundreds and thousands on the top.
On the inside it had chocolate on the stick.
No it's not a fab but thats the nearest.

I had not time for the Barsteward, has been lasting too long for my liking.

Had a bad experience, as (he) acted as a Dictator at the time.
It was a competition, just after the 11 September 02, and did not put my choise of share down, because did not like my comments in another thread,
I wonder if (he) was a Muslim ?

Well it lasted much less than the other Dictator Hussain.

Martini
I believe the poor chap got mesmerised by a certain FBB and got vanquished by Clem...

jgp212 - Yes! I'm getting sharper aren't I.... not good, not good!! :@)

And i'm vanquished from that other plaice so it's all fun isn't it!!

:@)

jeffmack - 21 Jan'03 - 18:11 - 34 of 50

Priscilla
Why bother

clem (ADVFN) - 21 Jan'03 - 18:28 - 35 of 50

Lesk.
I expect to get an ongoing issue with people 'sliming' ADVFN for their site.

For instance, in the last week or so weve locked a dozen ID's, all the same person, for pushing a US newsletter.

Sliming us is Free and very effective advertising. We have always had this to some extent, but now we are THE site, we are getting it more and more and more.

We have had to draw a line. The free site is funded by advertising and we dont appreciate people trying to shoplift our customers.

We will take peoples ad money. You all have seen lots of websites advertising on ADVFN. This is the money that pays for the free BB. If the 'slimers' are allowed to do it for free it undermines the reason to advertise on ADVFN at all and hence damages YOU.

However, freeloaders slime our site because they don't have the money to buy ads or don't see why they should pay for advertising when they can steal it.

This undermines ADVFN and the Free BB.

When it comes to our attention we will delete it.

long john silver - 21 Jan'03 - 18:30 - 36 of 50

lesk - where are you vanquished from ?

& do you mean routed or overwhelmed or something else?

8 ball - 21 Jan'03 - 18:40 - 37 of 50 edit

Clem could you please post the advert Goldog is alleged to have posted.

Granted some sites have spammed up the fbb with ads, and you are correct to stop this.
I find it hard to believe GD did the same, or are you going to ban anyone who even mentions or uses other sites.

I use iii and many others, is this OK.

Why not ban people who post under multiple ID's or does that help your hit rate?

clem (ADVFN) - 21 Jan'03 - 18:45 - 38 of 50

""... could you please post the advert Goldog is alleged to have posted.""

Ho ho ho. :)

Priscilla. Why dont you run it?

By the way to save this getting in the way of talking about stocks, Im going to time lock this thread.

Anyone wanting to go over this at lenght can bookmark the thread and access it that way. I will respond to it in due course.

little willie - 01 Feb 2004 21:38 - 4062 of 23498

Interesting read, I missed all the Jan '03 stuff what with moving out here and despite asking, never had a reply to "what happened to advfn?" and why all moved. Now the fog is lifting and things are becoming clearer, didn't realise GD had had agro from Clem.
Interesting to note his concern for free readers as,when trying to get online with them now, I'm regularly "timed out" after as little as two seconds which is a bloody joke!!

I remember the Capri with a great deal of affection!!

Bed beckons, night all...

ps. another loss for Saints v Man U.+ referee/linesman, 11 v 13 no contest..
bastards!!!!

This_is_me - 01 Feb 2004 22:21 - 4063 of 23498

Yes LW Man Utd should have been awarded two penelties, weren't but still won. The FA are in the Goons pocket. The Goons Vice Chairman is a top FA official!

8 Ball - 01 Feb 2004 22:33 - 4064 of 23498

TIM.. Bit worried about the united defence without Rio, on that performance.
Could do with another centre back.

This_is_me - 02 Feb 2004 10:50 - 4065 of 23498

8 Ball

Wes Brown is rusty after yet another long injury spell. He is nearly as bad a Owen in that respect! It will be another month before he is match fit.

stockbunny - 02 Feb 2004 11:54 - 4066 of 23498

This-Is-Me - you may not have seen me but I saw you!!

You can relax today stockpotbunny I've decided on OYSters for lunch after all, even though there is an 'R' in the month, so you can rabbit on today outside your burrow quite safely!

stockbunny - 02 Feb 2004 14:06 - 4068 of 23498

Well that's good to know!! :o)
And at least it's stockpotbunny and not crackpotbunny (giggle)

hilary - 02 Feb 2004 14:18 - 4069 of 23498

stockbunny - 02 Feb 2004 14:32 - 4070 of 23498
