Referendum : to be in Europe or not to be ?, that is the question ! (REF)

required field - 03 Feb 2016 10:00

Thought I'd start a new thread as this is going to be a major talking point this year...have not made up my mind yet...(unlike bucksfizz)....but thinking of voting for an exit as Europe is not doing Britain any good at all it seems....

re - Theresa May is a great self-promoter, but a terrible Home Secretary

I have not read the link above, but one thing is very clear, as I said before the main reason for most people voting OUT was " Imigration " and she was in charge of that post, so is clear she was not doing a good job, despite yesterday saying, she fixed everything on her path.

Haystack - 01 Jul 2016 11:27 - 4058 of 12628

The President of Austria is essentially a ceremonial roll and gives no policy powers.

VICTIM - 01 Jul 2016 11:31 - 4059 of 12628

Why was it rigged then .

Haystack - 01 Jul 2016 11:32 - 4060 of 12628

I don't know what the irregularities were.

VICTIM - 01 Jul 2016 11:38 - 4061 of 12628

There was a 143% turnout in one area .

Haystack - 01 Jul 2016 11:49 - 4062 of 12628

Up to North Korea standards.

grannyboy - 01 Jul 2016 12:17 - 4063 of 12628

Yes there was a village that had a postal vote, where an individual was
studying the results and found the anomaly, where there was 145% over
the populations registered voters..

And quite rightly there's to be a re-run....

Haystack - 01 Jul 2016 12:20 - 4064 of 12628

It was like that in Tower Hamlets where there were supposedly several hundred voters living at various addresses. It is one of the reasons that there is now individual voter registration now.

MaxK - 01 Jul 2016 12:35 - 4065 of 12628

50% more voting slips than there were voters.

grannyboy - 01 Jul 2016 12:38 - 4066 of 12628

Yes and similar to the registration site going down 10 minutes before
cut off time here, when the government gave an extra two days for
those who left it till the last minute to register...

Outrageous..

cynic - 01 Jul 2016 12:43 - 4067 of 12628

yup - and the mafia xcolluded with cia in the assassination of jfk too

MaxK - 01 Jul 2016 12:48 - 4068 of 12628

Someone did c, anyone who watched the motorcade could see that.

iturama - 01 Jul 2016 12:52 - 4069 of 12628

I have no problem with the extension of the registration period. Everybody agreed to it and the more people registered to vote the better. It gives even more legitimacy to the result. I don't know the make up of those that registered late but better that than have people complaining they were cheated. Job done. No reason to complain - although they still do.

Haystack - 01 Jul 2016 12:53 - 4070 of 12628

And the US did not land on the moon, JFK killed Marilyn Monroe, the US did 911, Elvis is alive, UFOs are from space, perpetual motion is suppressed by energy companies, Jesus rose from the dead, Diana was murdered..........

The real shocker is the theory that fred is human.

grannyboy - 01 Jul 2016 12:57 - 4071 of 12628

Its being reported in the press today that ....Turkey yesterday 'demanded
the European Union make it a member so it can take Britain's place after
Brexit'

Yes by 2020 they'l be fully paid up members, and will be flocking to europe
to take advantage of the welcome they'l receive, not long then when Islam
replaces christianity in europe...

Haystack - 01 Jul 2016 13:00 - 4072 of 12628

Turkey will be ignored. Yet another conspiracy theory.

grannyboy - 01 Jul 2016 13:03 - 4073 of 12628

I'm afraid that it was a wrong decision, they had plenty of warning, and to
extend the period by two days was an attempt to get as many, the remainer's
thought would be remain voters, ie young voters to register, the fact all sides
agreed to it wasn't to admit it was the right decision, but to cause a stink would
have given the remain side the opportunity to accuse the leave side of being
undemocratic...

Thankfully justice was done....

grannyboy - 01 Jul 2016 13:05 - 4074 of 12628

As being proved before, Haystack you appear to have a mental block and
a selective opinion when Turkey is mentioned.

grannyboy - 01 Jul 2016 13:07 - 4075 of 12628

And they, the remainer's are still crying foul anyway..And still hold out
hopes that a new referendum will be granted..

jimmy b - 01 Jul 2016 14:55 - 4076 of 12628

I still think as soon as any other country starts making noises about a referendum the EU will sit down and talk about the free movement rather than break up the EU ,we have done Europe a huge favour .
