The next driving force could very well be the reserve update from D&G, which is due sometime next month and also an update on output along with
general progress.

Lets hope the second report is true, it could do wonders for the Russian oil stock.

at the moment, it looks as though i may have backed the wrong horse as looked at CNE, TLW and PMO at the same time .... all those have done seriously better than IEC over the last couple of weeks ..... lets hope there are no skeletons in the cupboard

niceonecyril - 03 Mar 2008 10:09 - 409 of 896

I'm looking to find an entry point and hoped with the markets a bit nervy i
might get under 1400p, alas (for me)one of the few to go blue this am. I feel with
news from both Kazakhstan and D&G's revised reserves due at the end of the month,it could see perhaps 1800p again?

chart above shows 1400 as a pretty good support level anyway .... and if sp dropped below 1400, would you then dither as to whether or not sp would fall further?

niceonecyril - 03 Mar 2008 10:21 - 411 of 896

I would certainly wait to see how the Dow performs before making any more
decisions, although having said that i did top up in EO. this am.

niceonecyril - 06 Mar 2008 07:57 - 415 of 896

We should be flying on this news, way to cautious. This company should at 20 imho.

cynic - 06 Mar 2008 09:01 - 417 of 896

well we aren't and nor is sp!

blanche - 06 Mar 2008 09:07 - 418 of 896

Cheer up cynic, as they say it might never happen!

niceonecyril - 06 Mar 2008 09:08 - 419 of 896

Reserves increased by 118mbo,output problems so market a little indifferent?
Its best shot is the Kazakhstan project as the rewards are greater per barrel of oil,
results are expected later this month, and will imo give this company a real boost?

I like this company, really has potential, been in and out before, looking for a way in..., but there might be a drop before the rise...market does not like delays with oil companies !

required field - 06 Mar 2008 10:05 - 421 of 896

At a support level now, if it breaks this on a downward trend ...could drop by 50p or so at once as this stock can be quite erratic at times !

required field - 06 Mar 2008 10:17 - 422 of 896

Wait for the sudden drop..could be any moment now..really crucial support zone !

cynic - 06 Mar 2008 10:45 - 423 of 896

you're a brave bloke if you go short

required field - 06 Mar 2008 10:50 - 424 of 896

Not shorting..too dangerous with this one..but there is a definite support around 14 !

cynic - 06 Mar 2008 13:54 - 425 of 896

and a lot of difference the following made - lol!

Shares in Imperial Energy Corporation PLC were higher at midday, following a positive trading update this morning, while Daniel Stewart upgraded its stance to 'buy' from 'hold' with a price target of 2,000 pence in reaction.

Earlier, the oil producer, said its annual review showed oil and gas net reserves as at end-December from 17 of its Tomsk region fields in Western Siberia rose to 920 mln barrels of oil equivalent.

The company also said the Russian Ministry of Natural Resources has extended all exploration licences owned by Imperial's Sibinterneft, for a further two years from April 2008, when they were due to expire.

In reaction, Daniel Stewart said it thinks this strong update from Imperial shows that although the company has had some difficulties in production, which is to be expected, it continues to add reserves, including gas and it believes the company is set for some very exciting upside over the next 12 months.

The broker is encouraged above all by the continued path to Russian Reserves parity and it also noted that the Natural Resources Ministry has extended the exploration licenses of Sibinterneft from April 2008.

It is positive about the update and noted that Imperial, albeit still burning cash, is progressing towards a cash flow positive position and it feels the incredible value that exists in the company is beginning to be unlocked.
