With regard to SRTS, I noticed from the league table on your web page that you have it down as closing at 4p when actually it's 5.5p(?). I presume if I were to sell I would get 4p but in the meantime shouldn't that be 5.5p? BTW, a rather nice 23k buy order went through this morning ;)

Unfortunately Jeffmack has been very busy today and he's only just been able to return my file with the changes from this morning. Because of the warm weather he's been serving chilled soft drinks as well as Earl and Lady Grey from his tea trolley and he's found it a bit testing to say the least. As a special bonus in recognition of his endeavours, the Chairman of his bank has promised to buy him a new pair of carpet slippers so he'll be able to walk those hallowed corridors of power with great pride.

I'm sorry Jeroo, but the Trading Game uses proper bid and offer prices. Please don't complain though ....... you're showing exceptional prowess in your stock picking even with the SRTS killer spread. The rest of us needed you to make a flakey trade in order to give us a chance to catch up. Well done!!

There are no problems with your trades. I'll alter the spreadsheet over the weekend. I'll alter the deadline for posting trades this weekend until 12 noon on Monday because of Easter.

I've just e-mailed Jeff an updated file. I'll update the webpage and edit this post accordingly when I get the file back.

I'm sorry but there have been some changes at the top and you're no longer number 1. I intend to run the game until the end of May so there is plenty of time to fight your way back up.

Hi Hilary.....

As I understand it...no account is taken for dividends..I can see how this would be additional work for you. Only the change in the share price itself is taken into account. I would not buy/hold a stock in the ex div week as you are only penalising yourself unneccssarily

So shorting stocks immediately before a dividend..eg RR this week
which is due to pay a 5p divi on 87p ie 5.7%...is hardly demonstrating ones trading prowess IMO rather short circuitng the system.

A more fairer way would be to disallow trading in stocks going ex div in the week they go ex divi. However if the rules have changed to allow the effect of dividend payments to be taken into account. I humbly take it all back.
