Just a red x in in corner for stockwatch.Have latest Java Tried to connect without Firewall but no luck.Get message "Loading Java applet failed"

Have spoken to JT, and he says it is more than likely that something is blocking the applet more than likely on your machine.

You may want to try uninstalling it and re installing it from the link on the stockwatch page to see if that cures the problem.

sarkee, the message means that Windows has been using your disk as an additional, slow, form of memory because you had too little main memory. This is a normal thing but it does slow down the machine immensely and so is to be avoided. Even worse, it ran out of the amount it had initially allocated on disk. So yes it does indicate you have too little memory (as has been said earlier 1Gb is really the minimum these days). However, it probably also indicates that either you have too much running on your computer at the same time or that one or more of the programs is using too much memory. Use Task Manager to find out which programs are using the most memory, and also go through the programs appearing in your systems tray to check that you really need them all. While it would be a good idea to upgrade the memory, you might still find you are in the same position unless you find out what the problem is.

Limewire is a java based platform, so that would account for that - you say you have uninstalled, did you leave it at that or did you re install the java as well. If not, please try that (you can always unistall again if it stops your MoneyAM access again).

Unfortunately, something on your system is causing this conflict, so I can only suggest that you take out the Java and then your MoneyAM will work again. Also would try a windows update, just to make sure you have all applicable security updates.

Kayak Thx for your detailed reply & I will try to find out the cause via task manager, certainly do tend to have a lot of things open at any1 time upto thirty or more. have noticed that another website A D V F etc, seems to hang a lot of times.

I think it might be a good idea to get rid of all the Java on your machine and start again.

Start by Control Panel, Remove Programs. See if there is a Java programme in there, if so Remove it. Then check out to see if MoneyAM Level2 works and I think you'll find it does. Hopefully you won't have to do any more Java removal

I used 'Housecall' from TrendMicro and this is what I had to do myself

I use PC-Cillin if that's any help.

But I don't use any live feeds from MAM if that's the problem area.

Hi I would like an opinion on the likely cause of the system not reading my keyboard on boot. ie it is often not being read during the bios displays as well as when windows starts. (i check for this wiht the pause button during boot) I have to switch of and on on the back of the pc the mains itself, sometimes 3 or 4 times before the keyboard is working. rebooting via the reset button or the front power switch does not effect a cure.

I am hoping its only the keyboard and not my mother board. Plugs are in firmly and have been pushed in and out and wiggled. So I dont think its a dry joint on the mothrboard, The keyboard is a logitech which I have had to dis-assemble and clean a couple of times. (due to keysnot making contact and red wine bath) The mother board is a gigabyte.

rpaco, best course of action I think is to borrow a keyboard from a friend or from work to see whether it is the keyboard or the motherboard that is faulty. I would suspect the keyboard, given the history of alcohol abuse :-)

The keyboard is powered even when the PC is shut down since it is designed to be able to bring it out of hibernation etc., which is why you have to turn the main power off to reset it.

Logitech have very good customer support and if the keyboard is the problem they may well send you a replacement free of charge or nearly so, if you ask them nicely.

All about those 'really well hidden files'. You know, the ones Microsoft have tried hard to keep secret from us.

Help! My kids have either been on a website or played a game which has altered the graphics settings, so when I boot their machine up the sreen only says "signal out of range". I've tried booting in safe mode and the part that I want to read is off the screen!!

i'm a bit stuck now - anyone got any ideas?
