Heritage Oil, now on the main market near you ! (HOIL)

required field - 04 Apr 2008 22:45

Another newcomer to the main market...anybody any idea what the production figures are ?

cynic - 24 Jan 2009 16:38 - 41 of 593

as i hold both and TLW and/or HOIL is quite likely to be taken over in turn, these could be exciting stocks to have in the portfolio over the coming months

cynic - 16 Feb 2009 08:07 - 42 of 593

worth reading the last couple of announcements re Kingfisher2 in Uganda and also looking at the chart below ..... a certain sour-puss on this BB maintains that HOIL is o'valued, and who is to say she is not right ..... however, the market does not seem to think so, and remember this is not just some mini-minnow with blue sky

latest RNS .....

Independent upstream exploration and production company Heritage Oil has revealed that output of oil and associated gas production has started from Oman's West Bukha field.
The field in Block 8 is located in the Strait of Hormuz and Heritage has a 10% working interest.
It said initial gross flow rates of approximately 15,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day, comprising 10,000 barrels of 42 degree API oil and 30 million cubic feet per day of associated gas
It says West Bukha field has additional untapped potential and provides a significant increase in current production levels for Heritage

i wonder if "raddled queen" aka "kate barnes" would care to make another of her useful contributions ...... doubtful i would guess!

cynic - 12 Mar 2009 14:53 - 44 of 593

good news - HOIL in partnership with TLW in the big Ugandan find/field
bad news - HOIL will need to raise lotsa dosh to participate properly
good news - arguably HOIL is therefore a good t/o target

goldfinger - 12 Mar 2009 15:08 - 45 of 593

Nah dont like this one and had a winning short on this back in december.

Smirkey Burns is pushing it on his website and reckon thats the biggest reason its got such a premium.

You put your finger on it when you mentioned CASH and FUNDING.

Some peeps think its cash rich but it isnt, its got net debt.

Glad you said arguably cyners re- to TO.

goldfinger - 12 Mar 2009 15:09 - 46 of 593

In fact if you look at the chart, that big V down coincided as to when I last shorted it and then took profits.....

straight up.

cynic - 12 Mar 2009 15:25 - 47 of 593

gave the argument for/against in a nutshell i thought ..... would rather have HOIL than RKH for sure! ...... EO. is surely a better bet than RKH too.

DGO is more interesting than i thought too, as much as anything because Dubai gov't has a 52% stake via ENOC

goldfinger - 12 Mar 2009 15:28 - 48 of 593

Yep but be carefull cyners Smirkey when he closes out will take all his lemmings with him and leave the SP floundering for a while.

cynic - 12 Mar 2009 15:38 - 49 of 593

made a useful profit here a month or two back, but do not currently hold .... it's on my watchlist because of TLW as much as anything

cynic - 25 Mar 2009 07:43 - 50 of 593

bought back in a few days ago and topped up yesterday ...... lucky chappy!

'This is an exciting time for Heritage as we make preparations to test the high impact Miran West-1 exploration well. The excellent oil shows over such a large interval of 1.1 kilometres highlights the multi-billion barrel oil potential of the prospects on the Miran licence, given the extensive area of the two Miran structures. We believe that Miran, like our unprecedented success in Uganda, has the potential to transform Heritage and deliver excellent value for our shareholders.'

cynic - 27 Mar 2009 11:12 - 51 of 593

there may just possibly be a predator circling, but don't bank on it .... on the other hand, you may want to bank some profits (i have) as sp is very close to the all-time high and that nearly always proves a significant hurdle

kate bates - 28 Mar 2009 13:40 - 52 of 593

cynic get some GKP, husband's brother (works for a small cap fund) is waxing absolute lyrical about them, presenting to the city next week and a forced seller has driven the stock down of late. He's talking them being worth at least 50p ( currently 10p ) and massive director buying. Drilling adjacent to where HOIL struck last week as well.

moneyplus - 28 Mar 2009 16:24 - 53 of 593

Thanks Kate--I hold a few of these and have read very positive comments on the other side. I think I'll add if I can before they do their presentation next week after your post!

mitzy - 31 Mar 2009 20:38 - 54 of 593

When are these ever going to go up..?

cynic - 31 Mar 2009 21:58 - 55 of 593

sold the other day and have bought back in today, but they are more for trading than holding i think

mitzy - 01 Apr 2009 06:42 - 56 of 593

I agree.

required field - 16 Apr 2009 19:09 - 57 of 593

This is going to go through the roof if they confirm what they say in the last RNS...going by that I would think that you could have possibly more than 15000 barrels per day...anything like 20000 or even 30000 and we are talking about an increase in the sp of 100p in one morning !.

required field - 18 Apr 2009 13:05 - 58 of 593

Up again at close...no stopping this at the moment !.

cynic - 18 Apr 2009 14:54 - 59 of 593

glad i am holding these at the mo, as well as TLW of the larger oilies.
shall almost certainly top up on monday

cynic - 20 Apr 2009 16:12 - 60 of 593

pay attention kate!!
sp has zipped through all all-time high on a horrid day in the markets.
nothing is ever certain with shares, but with the Kurdistan news following on from that in Uganda a few weeks ago, this is surely almost as bullish as one can get

good strong finish too
