THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

You will have to wait until Sunday night for UK EU exit polls as a lot of Europe doesn't vote till then.

UKIP stormed ahead in the polls for the Euro elections last night – with Nigel Farage’s party leaving all three major opponents trailing.

By: Sally GuyoncourtPublished: Thu, May 22, 2014

The party looked set for huge wins despite a campaign dogged with controversy after leader Nigel Farage was accused of racism.

A survey by Opinium revealed Ukip had a huge advantage with a 32 per cent share, Labour had 25 per cent, the Conservatives 21 per cent and the Lib Dems and Greens neck and neck with six per cent. A YouGov poll showed Ukip with a 27 per cent lead, Labour on 26 per cent, the Tories on 22 per cent and the Lib Dems limping behind the Greens with just nine per cent.

Mr Farage said a big win would be a political “earthquake”.

He said that he was ready to “do a deal with the devil” and be willing to back a Tory or Labour government next year if it would ensure a referendum on Europe.

Hmmm? Back a Tory or Labour government, eh?

Hmmm?

What are they going to talk about tonight then on the BBC 1 11.30 pm programme with Dimbelby.?????

goldfinger - 22 May 2014 15:17 - 41142 of 81564

Snore snore.

Haystack - 22 May 2014 15:21 - 41143 of 81564

They can talk about the elections, but not exit polls for the EU.

goldfinger - 22 May 2014 16:23 - 41144 of 81564

What are they going to be counting and getting results here in Britain tonight Hays???

Dont understand this.

Haystack - 22 May 2014 16:30 - 41145 of 81564

They won't count until Sunday as France and some others go to polls Sunday. No counting until all countries polls have closed. No discussions in media of exit polls until all polls closed Sunday.

The council elections will be counted tonight and tomorrow I believe.

cynic - 22 May 2014 16:32 - 41146 of 81564

i'll be almost more interested to see what turnout there is

Haystack - 22 May 2014 16:34 - 41147 of 81564

I am not sure you will get that either. I am not voting in the EU election.

cynic - 22 May 2014 16:48 - 41148 of 81564

shame on you .... a postal vote is no effort at all

goldfinger - 22 May 2014 16:50 - 41149 of 81564

Yep just looked in weekend supplement local Elections.

Wont be so good then.

Give pointers I suppose......like early interest rate rise, he he.

ExecLine - 22 May 2014 16:56 - 41150 of 81564

Haystack

Sorry to hear that. Aw go on! Just on more for UKIP, please. You know it makes sense.

Pretty please.

We are going to vote Tory for you in the General Election, you know.

doodlebug4 - 22 May 2014 17:01 - 41151 of 81564

Haystack, if you don't vote then you lose the right to moan or comment on the results! I don't care who you vote for - just do it. :-)

Haystack - 22 May 2014 17:07 - 41152 of 81564

If I vote it will be a spoilt paper as I don't like the whole MEP business.

For a few years I was deliberately not on the electoral roll to avoid jury service. It is a pain to have to do jury service when you run a business. I managed to get out of it twice with a lot of effort but got fed up with being asked.
