Have any of you made a profit over say the last three months ?
I used to know the biggest bookmaker in Manchester - Selwyn Demmy
I told him I used to bet - each way, on two year old horses, stakes and plates races, then not always the favouit, but near favourit giving best value, and I had a good knowledge of the race courses- I.E Chester small track favours inside horses, Woverhampton - uphill finish etc.
He told me that I would still loose money but not as fast as other punters.

Last time I met him he had a new Rolls Royce and his Bentley Continental still.
He also sold out many betting shop to Ladbrooks many years ago.

If you do make money over the longer term, and you have a system other than gut feelings please let me know. I would love to take a few thousand from my friends millions.

I also lived next door to the son of the late Alex Bird -
AB was a professional punter many years ago, and ended up making bets on photo finishes, by going to tracks with binoculars focussed on the finish line. A one time he had guys placing bets for him throughout the UK.
