VANE MINERALS, A Cheaper And Lower Risk Route Into The Uranium Market. (VML)

goldfinger - 08 Mar 2005 09:20

UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE..

COMPANY WEB SITE.........

http://www.vaneminerals.com/

THE PRICE OF URANIUM IS GOING BALISTIC...

The uranium spot price hasn't seen a down month since 2001. For years now, uranium producers have met just 60% of total annual demand - the other 40% coming from government stockpiles and decommissioned nuclear warheads. This can go on for only so long.

The tightness of supply comes at a time of atomic resurgence. Three large-scale factors have turned the tide in favour of nuclear energy:
geopolitics, global warming and developing world growth.

Analysts are debating over wether the SP of Uranium increase will be three fold within 2007?.

Looks like to me, the best play on the UK market for Uranium and it hasnt gotten away yet like the other two ZBA Zareba and URA Uranium which have multi bagged. Its also in a position to fund its development with a new gold mine producing. Ive added twice this morning and think this one could be very big. Heres the announcement...........

Vane Minerals PLC
07 March 2005

VANE Minerals plc (AIM: VML)

VANE Announces Diversification Into Uranium Exploration And Development

Vane Minerals ('VANE' or 'the Company') announces that it is diversifying its
current project portfolio by entering into the uranium exploration and
development business.

To date 7 uranium targets have been successfully claimed by the Company and 28
further properties have been identified and are under development. VANE expects
to finalise its property position by the end of the first quarter 2005. The
Company is targeting uranium projects that are either at, or near, resource
stage or targets that exhibit similar surface features to mines with past
production, but that have not yet been evaluated for the presence of uranium.

The 35 properties identified are located within a uranium district with
significant past production as well as significant resources. Due to the
current uranium market conditions, we prefer to not identify the location until
we complete our property position. Previous drilling data available for some of
the 7 properties successfully claimed indicate grade intersects from 0.34 up to
1.78% U3O8.

VANE has incorporated a 100% owned subsidiary to hold its uranium properties and
has also successfully recruited a uranium geologist, Kristopher K. Hefton B.Sc.,
who has considerable experience in this field and is a great addition to the
VANE team. Mr. Hefton has worked with VANE's exploration team in the past during
his time at Freeport McMoran, and he has also worked for Barrick Gold
Corporation, Homestake Mining Company and Energy Fuels Nuclear Inc.

Michael Spriggs, Chairman of VANE, commented, 'We are delighted to announce the
addition of these uranium assets to the VANE portfolio and will update the
market with more substantial details once further properties have been claimed.
The uranium market has been strong for some time now, reflecting a long-term
forecast supply shortage and the growing recognition that nuclear energy offers
a cleaner and more energy efficient fuel source. Through our extensive network,
we have identified some quality projects and look forward to releasing further
details when appropriate.'

Looking solid anyway.

belisce6 - 20 Apr 2005 23:08 - 415 of 2220

just had a look at this company's site for the first time, and i have to say that it is quite different to most exploration companies.........it has access to a massive global database, which is so crucial when it comes to working out where to go for a start.......and then it has the attitude of mining the crap out of old workings/mines where it can be done relatively quickly for some quick cash......then they seem to be wanting to invest their money from gold into yellowcake (which in fact is the new "gold")......i am so impressed that i think that i will be going and selling off a couple of other holdings (currently sitting at a 10% loss) and throwing the cash into Vane....

the uranium price has gone from 10USD to about 20USD over a 12 mth period, and now it has steadily risen to 23.50USD. I read a report (in Aus) that with the supply-demand of uranium; and almost no new production coming on, that the uranium price should rise rapidly to about 45USD over the next 18 to 24 months........Then once the exploration and resultant mine development catches up, that the price should ease back to the 20USD mark........

now if these speculations were to happen, and going by Vane's attitude of mining existing smallish old workings etctec......i see great potential for them to have some physical uranium selling at least somewhere near the end of the peak of uranium prices - which would mean massive share price increase......

Most other exploration companies take years to drill the hell out of their tenements - as they are all going for the mother of all deposits, and then another year or 2 to do their feasiliblity study (ie; more drilling), and then another year perhaps for commissioning the mine, with massive capital and infrastructure required........

......but not this baby......these guys are going for the small, quick and easy, whereby small input equals massive output........now being a Geologist by trade (back in Aus, am now a financial analyst in Telco company - had to diversify to be able to live in this part of world....haha).....i can really say that this strategy is fantastic !!!!

they floated less than a year ago, only spent about a third of their money (most new explorers blow their kitty within the first few years and keep diluting their stock with more and more new issues); and should be getting almost the same amount as they got when floated - over the next year, and they have maybe another one or two projects like this that will overlap......beautiful !!

I'm in baby !!!!! (am not a ramper, but wouldn't mind if someone came along and bashed this stock down a bit tomorrow morning some time....haha....would help me a great deal)

Hi belisce6, glad to see you agree Vane has such an excellent strategy, not to mention the imminent newsflow!

Cheers, Madison

goldfinger - 21 Apr 2005 08:12 - 419 of 2220

Just hoping it stays where it is or going up today.
cheers GF.

dawsinho - 21 Apr 2005 08:30 - 420 of 2220

belisce6, if vane does happen to go down i'll be waiting with my wallet! News is on its way any day now. Must say i am a little surprised with the low volume that vane trades on, with the massive upside would of expected some more people to catch on... Even advfn doesn't have the usual TEN QUID IN A WEEK RAMP going on!

Madison - 21 Apr 2005 09:07 - 421 of 2220

Which is probably a very good thing!

Cheers, Madison

dawsinho - 21 Apr 2005 09:44 - 422 of 2220

ha ha.. i know! It just seems strange that people are willing to throw money at new issues with little or no prospects, which may actually start mining something in a few years, when vane are here and now with massive prospects and a sound plan. Ah well, i'm happy to be here :-)

wilbs - 21 Apr 2005 10:20 - 423 of 2220

Me too.

goldfinger - 21 Apr 2005 12:12 - 424 of 2220

And just look at how reefton when't up this morning. With our 10 plus propertys we should go through the atmosphere.

cheers GF.

syd443s - 21 Apr 2005 12:22 - 425 of 2220

Yeah totaly agree with you GF, dont forget its only 10 as of the last RNS I think we can expect alot more sites to be confirmed with the next batch of news :-)

Madison - 21 Apr 2005 13:17 - 426 of 2220

Shares magazine awards Vane the little green triangle today with the usual positive comment. (There's no info or opinion that isn't already well covered in this thread.)

Cheers, Madison

goldfinger - 21 Apr 2005 15:30 - 427 of 2220

Took a rare visit to ADVFN and was pleasantly surprised by the Vane thread. It is virtually free of the crass ramping sometimes found there. It is a fairly sober and well reasoned discussion of Vane's prospects. There has been some discussion about the relative merits of Vane and Reefton with its soaring shareprice. So full credit is due to James T Kirk for this illuminating comparison:

VANE
Some of the prospects are believed to contain indicated resources with uranium grades of around 1% U3O8 or 20 pounds uranium oxide per ton.

REEFTON
Initial soil geochemical samples collected to date contain anomalous
uranium of up to 40 grams per tonne (g/t).

Let's convert this into a comparable statistic:
VANE: 9,000 gm per ton
REEFTON: 40 gm per ton

Cheers, Madison

tallsiii - 22 Apr 2005 09:02 - 430 of 2220

It looks like all that Reefton really have is some very expert marketing people!

A point of interest is that Van Norton, one of the Directors at Vane is the person that blew the wistle on the Bre X scandal. Personally, I can't think of someone that would be more reliable to have at the head of your company.

i have researched Vane some more and like what i hear. i think i may be joining you on the shareholder (or at least spreadbet holder/CFD) pad.

dawsinho - 22 Apr 2005 10:21 - 432 of 2220

Anybody taken a look at the trade data for today? A sell this morning has gone walk about, its not showing up anymore!
