news relating to the fact that card will not superceed passports is concerning, and if as reported there is a 35 fee for the biometric id card, Im lost as to how this will be introduced as standard. figures in the press show an almost 50 50 split on the introduction

The first initiative of its kind, LaunchPAD is an agreement between VeriFone, Mosaic Software and ID Data to deliver an end-to-end solution for the implementation of Pre-Authorized Debit (PAD) -- a new offline payment method that slots into existing EMV infrastructure as an extension to credit and debit. LaunchPAD will enable issuing and acquiring banks to target new customer segments through the deployment of low-risk payment products based on smart cards.

good to see some buying interest returning, could it be in antisipation of 'possibility' of I.D. cards.....will IDD be a major player in this field?

Idd are the British leaders in this field, if thay dont get the contract I think thay will have a part to play, apart from that there must be other contracts in the pipeline shorley! goal.

goal,all this news about id cards(again)should bring a bit of interest in idd but doubt it will be great unless the gov.make a positive announcement ie,give a time scale for implementation along with naming the companies who will be concerned in producing the cards.The Launchpad venture looks more promising in the short time,imho

If they go through with this id card scheme who are the fav.to get get the bulk of the contract?

goal...very tightly...and wishing...and hopeing... there must be enough folk out there who are lucky enough to overcome my jinx, I have managed to drag it down 65% since I bought! so clutching straws, maybe my luck has turned (should't even think this) but my other two holdings RTD..and CHY have taken a strong turn for the better, both poised to rocket... unless the fates have it in for me of course.

off to Egypt(tempting the fates) to take there mind off here, not the safest place to go at mo.......
