Sefton Resources - a SCREAMING BUY at this price - small-cap oil producer (SER)

mjr1234 - 10 Nov 2005 12:44

This stock looks like the most undervalued oil company on the stock exchange. >
Sefton Resources epic SER. It is currently trading at a price of 0.275p valueing the whole company at just 4M.

You might look at the market cap and assume that this company is just an explorer or a shell, but in fact Sefton is producing over 6000 barrels of oil per month with a monthly revenue of over $300k. It's recent work on it's Tapia oilfield exceeded expectations, meaning the company hit it's 200BOPD target 5 months early, and is now expecting resource and production estimates to be further upgraded. This is before it embarks on a steam-assisted programme early next year which
could see production rates multiplied 2-4 times! It is also looking at drilling further wells on the rich Tapia field in the light of the better than expected results.

So why is it only valued at 4M? The primary reason is lack of awareness of the stock, the sub-1p price puts many people off straight away, and a large overhang.

A year or so ago the company was put in financial dire straits by a
well blowout and had to undertake large discounted placings to get
itself back on track, which it has done with a vengeance. However,
some of these placing shares, which represent some 25% of the company
are being sold into the market, depressing the price so that despite the fact that the companies prospects have improved dramatically over
the past year, the price has dropped by nearly 60%.

This makes the company an absolute bargain at these rock-bottom prices. In 6 months time I expect this to be worth 3-5 times the current price. SERIOUSLY.

There is plenty of research to get your teeth into, the best place to start is the website :

There are 2 excellent articles on Sefton on the following website by Ian Mclelland (Jan/Feb 2006) - well worth a read to get up to speed on this company and it's prospects:

Well last week was an interesting one, as predicted. It seems the 1M trades going through at 0.34p are stakebuilding by a mysterious "large investor" who are going directly to HOODS, according to a poster on another bb. Looks like they are buying up the last bit of the overhang. He wouldn't say whether this was a Director or an Institution, or just a large private investor.

Next week we have at least one analysis/write-up coming out about SER, and if the buyer continues to soak up the sells and drive up the price, we could have an even more interesting week.

just oVer 7% spread low for this co and bid up to a nice plump .35.seems like someone is trying to tempt the sellers to press that button.feels like there is presure building under ser to take off.im up 2k hope we can hold,i would like that money in my pocket, but should keep growing and dont think i will see .25 again where it started

mjr1234 - 06 Feb 2006 21:53 - 417 of 1047

My average price is 0.36p so just about break-even now for the first time. Back in July-September last year when I bought over half my holding, the spread was typically something like 0.3/0.45 or even 0.3/0.5. In those days there were only 2 MM's really controlling the stock, and we now know it was all about HOODS offloading it's clients' shares (the overhang) into the market. Now times have changed, 3 or 4 MM's are now involved in the stock and HOODS no longer has a ready supply of shares, so we are now seeing much much better spreads which is going hand in hand with much higher volumes.

I think we can now safely say the overhang is history, or if there's any left, it's no longer having any significant effect.
Any rise tomorrow should see the price challenging the near-18-month downtrend line at around 0.38-0.385, and a break out of this will be a very significant event.

Still hold 2 mil at .28p average.

Starting to look very promising and some new moves on L2 today with a mm
that has not moved for a long time jumping from .25p to .33p bid in one go
late on today (KBC)

Just what does Seymore Pierce know for them to make a sudden U-Turn, they
were on the offer for months and would not budge, now they want to be alone
on the bid and seem to be taking a lot of stock either for themselves or for a
client(s).

Thanks for the level 2 insight Ravey.
Now what was I saying about much better spreads?..

mjr1234 - 07 Feb 2006 10:18 - 420 of 1047

Getting better - we have a BREAKOUT of the 18-month downtrend.

mjr1234 - 07 Feb 2006 13:40 - 423 of 1047

With analyst's reports expected this week and news before the end of the month, I can't see this changing direction in a hurry.

explosive - 07 Feb 2006 18:07 - 424 of 1047

Bid at .45 and loking good... MJ I agree with news round the corner the sp shouldn't change direction... Looks like we have lift off.

mjr1234 - 07 Feb 2006 18:23 - 425 of 1047

Closing price was 0.4/0.5 explosive. Hope to see the spread close a bit tomorrow, probably by the offer coming down a bit. Unless the strong buying, or whatever is driving this rapid rise continues and the bid continues upwards?

cellby - 07 Feb 2006 18:42 - 426 of 1047
