THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

To say you didnt vote on the EU vote Hays you seem to have a lot to say about it.

2 faced or what.

And MANUEL your post to Fred this morning should equally be aimed at Hays.

So no special treatment please for you close pals.

goldfinger - 27 May 2014 17:09 - 41503 of 81564

O/T whenever we come back from a bank holiday it always seems stockwatch is knackered.

What on earth do MAM do to it. !!!!!!!!!

Site as slow as a slug aswel.

cynic - 27 May 2014 17:17 - 41504 of 81564

i shall just wait and listen to the argument and counter, try to work out what has a reasonable % of truth and then make up my mind ..... i don't have a fixed idea of what key elements i am looking for

if labour are in power, there won't be a choice ..... you'll be "in" whether you like it or not and further, there's a good chance that labour will slowly allow more and more of our laws and lives to be governed by brussels

cynic - 27 May 2014 17:18 - 41505 of 81564

fully agree sticky ...... naughty manuel :-))

Haystack - 27 May 2014 17:23 - 41506 of 81564

Politics gets everywhere. I was visiting hospital today and there was a Labour ward! I certainly didn't find a UKIP ward.

cynic - 27 May 2014 17:25 - 41507 of 81564

UKIP ward would have been signed as Recovery Room

Fred1new - 27 May 2014 17:32 - 41508 of 81564

More like the Mortuary!

Has anybody using Chrome as their Browser had troubles earlier to-day?

cynic - 27 May 2014 17:35 - 41509 of 81564

i use chrome and din't have any probs

my ukip + recovery room was obviously a bit too subtle :-)

doodlebug4 - 27 May 2014 17:40 - 41510 of 81564

Nick Clegg must be in intensive care. The prospect of Cable taking over from Clegg is an even worse proposition.

goldfinger - 27 May 2014 17:47 - 41511 of 81564

Yep Fred re- chrome.

Been funny all day here.

Sometimes its saying I cant log onto internet but am able to do just a minute later.

All very strange, cleared all my short term browsing data etc etc

goldfinger - 27 May 2014 17:48 - 41512 of 81564

Personaly I need a break from the politics, seems to have been far too much over last few days.

Fred1new - 27 May 2014 17:57 - 41513 of 81564

GF.

That is a relief.

The trouble with wander abroad and using Internet on mobile modem is one does gather some crap.

Got so fed up this am. I was forced to clean out the computer and reload chrome etc.

Seems OK now, but was worrying a little when my virus blocker didn't want to load.

Seems OK now.

Break from politics!

For god's sake don't start talking about cricket, gardening or being nice about Hay's ancestry!

Haystack - 27 May 2014 18:02 - 41514 of 81564

UKIP would have been OUTpatients. The Conservatives would be recovery. Libs would be INpatients.

goldfinger - 27 May 2014 18:06 - 41515 of 81564

Cricket, god weve gone from bad to worse.

What a poor England team we have now and only a year ago we were nos1.

As for Hays Threshers hasnt it all been sold off to individual Asian business now?.

Hays you should know?.

Racism on the rise in Britain

Exclusive: British Social Attitudes survey finds proportion of people in the UK who say they are racially prejudiced has risen since 2001

Very long article here: http://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2014/may/27/-sp-racism-on-rise-in-britain

Stan - 27 May 2014 21:09 - 41517 of 81564

Have you Little Englanders considered all moving to the same area and then setting up your own "Little England Country" within it? You could then lobby the government for some sort of Independence/Self Government, something like Wales, Scotland or more recently Cornwall?

This place is probably to far north for most of you http://www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/destinations/europe/uk/lakedistrictandcumbria/10752789/Saddleback-Mountain-for-sale-yours-for-1.75-million.html... But I think you may get the idea with a bit of intelligent thinking.

No takers? Bit further to go but how about this one then http://www.property.org.uk/unique/islands.shtml

MaxK - 27 May 2014 21:17 - 41518 of 81564

Sorry Stan.

The bbc one wont open, and the second one is a bit beyond my reach.

Looking at the asking prices, it's Nu Socialists only.

Stan - 27 May 2014 21:25 - 41519 of 81564

Max, try again another one inserted.

MaxK - 27 May 2014 21:57 - 41520 of 81564

Cheers Stan.

Is he related to Tony Blair?

goldfinger - 27 May 2014 21:57 - 41521 of 81564

Hays Hays Hays.......the trend is with labour.......

2 Polls out today showing Labour continuing to lead.

Latest Ashcroft and Populus polls
27 MAY 2014

I’ve been laid low with a stomach bug all day so haven’t had time to really write about today’s polling. For the record though here are the two new polls from Lord Ashcroft and Populus.

Lord Ashcroft’s poll has topline figures of CON 29%, LAB 31%, LDEM 8%, UKIP 17% – a nice post-local election boost for UKIP and the highest they’ve recorded in a telephone poll to date. Tabs are here.

In contrast Populus have figures of CON 34%, LAB 36%, LDEM 9%, UKIP 14%. Their fourteen point figure for UKIP is just the same as last week.
