Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).
Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.
cheers GF.

EDINBURGH, May 28 (Reuters) - Scots will each be 1,400 pounds ($2,400) a year better off if they vote to remain part of the United Kingdom, Britain's deputy finance minister Danny Alexander said on Wednesday. Alexander put his case for Scots to oppose independence in a referendum of Sept. 18, shortly after Scotland's First Minister Alex Salmond said an independent Scotland's public finances would be at least as strong as the rest of the United Kingdom's. ID:nL6N0OE25Q "By staying together, Scotland's future will be safer, with stronger finances and a more progressive society," Alexander said. "It means a UK dividend of 1,400 pounds a year for every man, woman and child in Scotland." Salmond said that if Scotland had full powers to run its economy without interference from London, it would be 5 billion pounds a year richer by 2030 - something Alexander dismissed as a "bogus bonus". "They're desperately trying to distract attention from that fundamental question ... that there simply wouldn't be the same level of resources available for public services if Scotland were independent," Alexander said. Scottish nationalists differ sharply with anti-independence campaigners on likely future tax revenue from North Sea oil, as well as whether an independent Scotland would be able to boost producitivty and slow the ageing of Scotland's population.

So if Scotland are £1400 a person better off if they stay with the UK I'm thinking how much better off I'd be if they left...!

Tony Blair as been popping up every were giving his views on how grateful we should be to be members of the EU , what was funny if it was not so tragic that he said being in the EU helps to prevent wars, well you know all about preventing wars Tony.
Read in the paper this morning , it as cost the tax payer £30 billion for the Iraq and Afganistan war , and we are still giving millions now to rebuild and prop up the corrupt countrys [ give us your oil ], and the drugs trade is bigger then before and the streets of London are no safer.
And he still says mass uncontroled imigration has been a boon for this country.

It just shows how thick they think the British people are, incapable of having the intelligence to have a mind of their own.

A pregnant woman was stoned to death on Tuesday by her own family outside a courthouse in the Pakistani city of Lahore for marrying the man she loved, reports the Huffington Post.
The woman was killed while on her way to court to contest an abduction case her family had filed against her husband. Her father was promptly arrested on murder charges, police investigator Rana Mujahid said, adding that police were working to apprehend all those who participated in this "heinous crime."
Arranged marriages are the norm among conservative Pakistanis, and hundreds of women are murdered every year in so-called honor killings carried out by husbands or relatives as a punishment for alleged adultery or other illicit sexual behaviour.
Stonings in public settings, however, are extremely rare. Tuesday's attack took place in front of a crowd of onlookers in broad daylight. The courthouse is located on a main downtown thoroughfare.
A police officer, Naseem Butt, identified the slain woman as Farzana Parveen, 25, and said she had married Mohammad Iqbal, 45, against her family's wishes after being engaged to him for years.
Her father, Mohammad Azeem, had filed an abduction case against Iqbal, which the couple was contesting, said her lawyer, Mustafa Kharal. He said she was three months pregnant.

At last, it’s Tax Freedom Day… but just wait until you find out when Cost of Government Day is
Eamonn Butler 28 May 2014 11:47
Today is Tax Freedom Day. That means that the average person in Britain has to work 148 days of the year solely to pay taxes. Only on Tax Freedom Day do we at last start earning for ourselves.
This year there is a faint chink of cheer, in that Tax Freedom Day falls three days earlier than it did in 2013. But we still have to labour for nearly five months just to meet the demands of the tax collectors.
But what you pay in taxes this year isn’t the whole story. Remember that the government spends even more than it raises, and it borrows the difference. Despite all the talk of ‘austerity’, the current government borrows about £1 for every £5 it spends.
So crafty Chancellors could limit the burden of taxes today, and prevent Tax Freedom Day drifting later in the year, simply by borrowing instead of taxing. But they can hardly be praised for that – Britain’s taxpayers will have to pick up the bill for all this borrowing at some point in the future.
