It is now time to switch to a new Money AM football blog as the world cup is now over and we all look to the future.....World cup 2010 is over, Bravo Espana, and Forlan, once again and bring on the new season !.....I never expected the last thread to be such a success...thanks all.... so this new one might go on for years without the need to edit the title...we shall see...

Harry hoping you didn't lose to much betting against Everton :O) Great result v Spurs! Blackburn result brightened my night, reckon 'Should have stayed at Fulham Roy' will have a sleepless night working out what to do with his pay off cheque, big gamble managing that shite he inherited from 'The Fat Spanish Waiter'. If Chelsea don't pull their fingers out be lucky to finish 4th.

Chris Carson - 09 Jan 2011 13:14 - 417 of 6918

King Kenny back in the hot seat LOL, can't blame him easy money! Benitez 5m, Hodgson 3m no need to buy a lottery ticket just apply for the managers job at LFC :O)

Joe Say - 10 Jan 2011 07:20 - 418 of 6918

the euro lottery equivalent is available at both the Bridge and the city of MCR stadium

Andy,

What's the feeling locally on the Howe situation, an announcement this afternoon I hear.

I see that David Beckham might play for Spurs......might even play against Milan AC....that would be special....but is it worth it...?....for 2 months ?.....and what sort of salary are we talking about here ?......to me for a season he's a good signing, but for 2 months....hardly worth it...he might only play half a dozen games....at the most....

HARRYCAT - 11 Jan 2011 13:58 - 421 of 6918

Beckham only training with Spurs. Redknap said there were insurmountable insurance issues, so playing for Spurs was not an option now.

Galaxy would not be happy should he get injured...no doubt....

Due to the current finacial problems surrounding a lot of football clubs at the moment, Manchester United have had to release 15 members of staff from their payroll.

The 5 referees and 10 linesmen are said to be devastated.

Stan - 14 Jan 2011 12:16 - 425 of 6918

.. Many a true word skinny -): Now where's that Andy?

Just won a small bet on Borussia Dortmund...good team to back that...they won away at Bayer Leverkusen tonight.....going for Watford and Leeds...already regretting the Watford bet....why on earth did I go for them.....?.....

I see that Fifa are making a mess of the Qatar world cup.....ok they won the bid that's one thing, but nobody in the right mind would have the world cup in a country with 40 to 50c in the shade....nuts...football is supposed to be played on a lawn in normal temperatures.....if this is the way that corrupt lot of the world body are taking our national sport then the best thing would to start a rival to Fifa.....I don't mean overriding them, but a body that could get stronger and stronger and perhaps one day be in a position to force an overturn of the crackpot decisions that have come out of that farcical lot....now some people want to hold the competition in the winter...others in june....frankly there is no way you can play in 50c in the shade or even train.....and I can understand football managers not wanting it in january....

Joe Say - 15 Jan 2011 09:20 - 428 of 6918

why not a body that overrides them ?

as for the jan idea - there's no chance - too much disruption for european leagues in particular.

best thing to do imo is to simply boycott the whole thing - why bother playing ? let them all have an entertaining alcohol free month in the desert and I'm sure that most of us will be able to find something better to do

don't let corruption pay

Watford did well....Borussia as well.....and Leeds....let down by Southhampton....anyway...for today....no bets on the premiership....too difficult...but a few punts on Real Madrid, Milan AC, Benfica.....and Ding (Snooker) (who seems to be in form)......

required field - 17 Jan 2011 08:49 - 430 of 6918

Made the grand profit of 1.43......blinkin real and milan let me down....luckily Ding was in good form....

Joe Say - 17 Jan 2011 18:50 - 431 of 6918

remember the adage - a profits a profit

Stan - 20 Jan 2011 12:55 - 432 of 6918

Burnley FC might get a mention tonight. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00xzvz2

The Gunners were better than Leeds last night.....they had more options when a player gets the ball.....

Team: UEFA.com users' Team of 2010

A team including Iker Casillas, Maicon, Gerard Piqu Carles Puyol, Ashley Cole, Cristiano Ronaldo, Xavi Herndez, Wesley Sneijder, Andr Iniesta, Lionel Messi and David Villa, coached by JosMourinho with more than 400,000 fans is worth noting.
More than 5 million votes in all a record were cast in UEFA.com's annual poll, and few could quibble with the Spain and FC Barcelona-heavy selection.
