Please report bugs and enhancements (BUGS)

andy.lovell - 04 Nov 2002 11:26

If you're having any problems, or want to suggest some improvements, please post below!

Level2 changes
In the last few weeks we've needed to implement some code changes to make us compliant with the LSE's rules on the access of Level2 data.

The following requirement is now in place:
You can only use 1 program on 1 computer to access Level2 on MoneyAM using a single username.

This means that you are able to view as many Level2 windows using any one particular browser, or program, that you wish, however you will not be able to use both Firefox and Internet Explorer at the same time (the same goes for using Quote Tracker or TradeSeeker at the same time as viewing it using a web browser)

If you find you're being logged off of MoneyAM's Level2 with the message 'you've logged on from another location' then check the above and make sure you're not running any other programs at the same time before reporting this as a bug.

Big Cahuna,

Thanks for that.

Something went spatty and filled up the disk. Nasty.

Resolved now!

Thanks.

J.

Well done - even fixes the other problems when cutting and pasting from word.

TomL - 06 Jan 2003 08:09 - 419 of 7315

Morning all.

Just want to say thanks to all the team at MoneyAM...its easy to forget that while we are busy trading and providing "bug input", the project team are working furiously in the background.

I have retested the delay on trades I reported (see 387 (2)above) and am pleased to say that the delay has come in dramatically from 3 mins to circa 15 seconds, based on testing vod 1st 10 mins opening trades.

Cheers.

Martini--

Do you cut and past charts and graphs from word? I'm wondering if I have to expand my limited knowledge of HTML.

Nice meeting you at Pizza on the Park btw.

...Trades again!

For what it is worth, have noted that all trades for any 1 min time frame are accurately collected. But the order in which they appear is definitely not the order in which they have been physically executed...eg. vod at 08.29 hours..

per MoneyAM trades - 53K/200/16/250/750/250/28
per advfn(t/sales) - 28k/250/750/250/16/200/53 (correct order in time of execution)

This makes no commercial difference to me for data collection and analyses purposes, so long as they are collected accurately to within the minute! But it may be important to others to know and I don't know if MoneyAM have a duty of care to point this out (ie time and sales accurate to within 1 minute does not mean that this is the precise order in which the trades were executed).

It does make a big difference to me for execution purposes!

Looks to me pretty simple to sort..nb. AM data looks exactly back to front!

TomL - thanks for your feedback - it's particularly useful to have the specific examples you've given in the previous post and earlier posts regarding delays on trades. We're working with our data provider at the moment to try and iron out some of these problems, and it's made things a lot easier to be able to quote specific trades that were delayed!

I'll keep you posted.

regards

Could the search function ignore case on the thread creator name?

Martini - 06 Jan 2003 10:29 - 424 of 7315

Just got logged out after 1 hours session and clicking round the site during that time.

Ipenning - thanks Ian...good to know, as sometimes I think I might be thought of as rambling. But took the view that without specifics am cannot quickly and accurately judge the materiality of a point in relation to the good of the whole community..will continue as before where relevant!

Martini..that happened to me also, don't know why! But obviously we both logged back in again.

TomL - 06 Jan 2003 11:43 - 426 of 7315

..those darn Trades again.

To double check on my post(418 above) results on today's opening, I conducted a comprehensive check comparing the stocks on my stockwatch at am with the same on my advfn monitor.

Stock components monitored are azn, barc,bp,gsk,Lloy and vod.

Measurements are:-

1st TEST
advfn..all timed at 11.26 hours (taken as last stock component to first register time) = clock time 11.30 hours; and
am....all timed at 11.26 hours = clock time 11.32 hours.

2nd TEST (excl azn = slow momentum today)
advfn..all timed at 11.29 = clock time 11.33 hours; and
am...all timed at 11.29 (excl azn) = clock time 11.35 hours.

Both suggest delay of 2 mins and therefore my optimism in post 418 above is incorrect. The delay is across the board and material. No need to respond...I know you have this in hand but thought the above different more comprehensive test should be added to your basket of data on the issue. Cheers!

Haystack - 06 Jan 2003 15:03 - 427 of 7315

Using the feature on A***N that substitutes 'an A***N competitor' for www.MoneyAM etc could be useful. If one were to put a sentence in the thread title or in the body of a post that said 'There is MoneyAm which is far superior to A***N' it might come out rather niceley.

Kayak - 06 Jan 2003 15:08 - 428 of 7315

I am perturbed by the logout button in the top right hand corner, which is shorter in height than the other buttons.

Haystack - 06 Jan 2003 15:13 - 429 of 7315

That button is a bit hard on the eye. One can easily see the perturbations that that this could cause. Serious injury to one's sense of symmetry could result. It could unbalance the whole day.

Kayak - 06 Jan 2003 15:16 - 430 of 7315

Indeed. I have been feeling lopsided all day. Fortunately my monitor can be tilted.

Haystack - 06 Jan 2003 15:17 - 431 of 7315

I am worried about driving my car now, just from looking at it. Reverse parking will be a nightmare.

MightyMicro - 06 Jan 2003 15:55 - 432 of 7315

Kayak and Haystack:

The Log Out button is a trifle asymmetric in its placement due to a minor glitch in editing it in when it was added.

I realise that this must be causing havoc with your sense of order and proportion, possibly giving a fair amount of grief to your artistic sensibilities, rendering you unsafe on the roads (at least when reversing) and possibly causing lasting mental instability (could we tell the difference?).

So, rest assured, we have fixed it in an upcoming release of the code. In the meantime, as a work-around, use the site with your eyes closed.

The Lord be praised.

Forwood - 06 Jan 2003 16:19 - 434 of 7315

On a page refresh and 'All messages' of the (Traders) thread I have twice been invited to log on whilst already logged on. Going 'back' on the browser cured it but thought yuou should know. Ist time seen this odd behaviour.

PS Why doesn't this thread have an 'All messages' option?

Nick(MoneyAM) - 06 Jan 2003 16:44 - 435 of 7315

Forwood: Similar to a "financial BulletinBoard competitor", if a thread has more than 400 posts, it will not show a "All Messages" button.

Nick

AndyMoneyAM - 06 Jan 2003 16:58 - 436 of 7315

Forwood,

Several people are reporting the fact that they're being invited to log back on well within the normal 8 hour time-out period. This is something that I believe has only started to happen in the last two or three days.

We're currently investigating.
