I see those nice fishMMongers have bought shed loads of second hand oysters at less than they normally pay. Does that mean that they are going to be pushing the price up next week to draw in the punters or should one get rid of ones supply before the market is flooded?

jeffmack - 06 Feb 2004 20:07 - 4177 of 23498

Vasey
Sorry I didn't notice you pop in, most remiss of me. Enjoy the bubbly.
I would like to be right at the top of the leaderboard, if only for a day. It would give me confidence that I can at least pick a few good'uns.

Bottoms up!

Socrates - 07 Feb 2004 09:50 - 4182 of 23498

Good morning all, sorry I'm late in but I had difficulty climbing out of my house over the pile of mail I had today. Never mind, full English breakfast now available and I even got some porridge in for our northern friends. I'll slice a lump out for anyone who would like some.

hilary - 07 Feb 2004 11:14 - 4183 of 23498

Oh dear. My ex-boss seems to be in a spot of bother.

Socrates - 07 Feb 2004 11:35 - 4184 of 23498

be something good about customer service desks and these PA systems are it!!

This-Is-ME - Behave yourself!! Your mind needs a quick wash through

Don't worry my furry little friend, the driver is just winding you up. He just leaves the full lorry and drives away the emmpty one. Bit like a milkman and the bottles.

Thanks for the nod re the game, I feel a lot better out of the relegation zone.

The best Tannoy announcement I ever heard was on an RAF station and it went something like:

"This is a test of the station tannoy, anybody not hearing this test is to telephone the guardroom and report the fault. This is the end of the announcement."

I have it on good authority that the announcement was made by a civilian contractor brought in to repair the system. I never did find out if he got any phone calls.

snoball - 08 Feb 2004 00:12 - 4190 of 23498

A perfectly sensible way to guarantee the repair was fixed and he could get his money.
Crafty buggers, those civilians.

Socrates - 08 Feb 2004 11:42 - 4191 of 23498

I fancy a good basic nosh for lunch, Spam fritters with bubble & squeak!

snoball - 08 Feb 2004 18:21 - 4192 of 23498
