Referendum : to be in Europe or not to be ?, that is the question ! (REF)

required field - 03 Feb 2016 10:00

Thought I'd start a new thread as this is going to be a major talking point this year...have not made up my mind yet...(unlike bucksfizz)....but thinking of voting for an exit as Europe is not doing Britain any good at all it seems....

Haystack - 04 Jul 2016 19:04 - 4179 of 12628

There is some tactical voting going on to stop Leadsom. May supporters are voting for Gove who is coming up fast. Local constituency members have told MPs that they don't want Gove under any circumstances. By voting Gove, it could then be May vs Gove at the end.

MaxK - 04 Jul 2016 19:36 - 4180 of 12628

Makes no odd's Haystack.

If they elect May, a remainer, you might just as well call the tory party nu nu labour and have done with it, cos you'll never see my vote again.

iturama - 04 Jul 2016 19:38 - 4181 of 12628

They may play games amongst themselves but they won't fool the electorate. They should have learnt that by now.

Haystack - 04 Jul 2016 20:14 - 4182 of 12628

I doubt that they will miss your vote.

May seems to be popular with Leave voters as well. I am not that keen on her, but she is the best of a bad bunch I would prefer Cameron by a long way.

Haystack - 04 Jul 2016 20:16 - 4183 of 12628

They won't need to fool the electorate. If it is Gove vs May then May will win it easily to be leader. At a GE May will win easily again.

iturama - 04 Jul 2016 20:29 - 4184 of 12628

Provided she delivers

Haystack - 04 Jul 2016 20:34 - 4185 of 12628

She will. At least better than Labour anyway. She will have 4 years to get the hang of it. She survived being the Home Secretary well. The average length in post is 2 years plus. It is a very tough job. She has managed to be one of the longest serving ever since about 1890.

Haystack while your berating Farage for his poster ,what about your beloved Cameron and Osbourne's poster , this is what you would call really vile !

And tell me what would you have said if the Leave campaign had put up a muslim man shaking his fist at an old white lady . Discuss ?

Haystack - 04 Jul 2016 20:57 - 4187 of 12628

The guy on the right is a UKIP voter. One of the rednecks.

jimmy b - 04 Jul 2016 21:13 - 4188 of 12628

Nothing to say then Haystack ,in fact that is just pure ignorant, your just as bad as Fred .

iturama - 04 Jul 2016 21:13 - 4189 of 12628

If he is a redneck then he is a long way from home. That is a disparaging term used by democrats in the USA for white workers in the Southern States. Something they fail to do about the crime ridden black neighbourhoods in the North.
To depict all UKippers as BNP is as wrong as casting all tories as toffs. That poster is a montage and intended to inflame. The UKIP poster was unnecessary but the photo was real.

you guys do make me laugh
so many of you sound like 2-year old children throwing mindless tantrums

Haystack - 04 Jul 2016 21:17 - 4191 of 12628

http://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/redneck

a poor white person without education, especially one living in the countryside in the southern US, who has prejudiced (= unfair and unreasonable) ideas and beliefs

Note: It says especially and not only. Clearly applies to UKIP as well.

The highest Leave votes were in the areas of the poorest education.

cynic coming from you that's funny the person who over the years has had the most arguments on the BB's than anyone .

Brexit live: Boris Johnson backs Andrea Leadsom for Tory leadership

Haystack - 04 Jul 2016 21:43 - 4196 of 12628

She might win. You can get about 11/4 for her. Not bad odds, May is 2/5

iturama - 04 Jul 2016 22:08 - 4197 of 12628

The highest Leave votes were in the areas of the poorest education.

I seem to remember that you and all your family voted out. If the boot fits comes to mind.

Haystack - 04 Jul 2016 22:46 - 4198 of 12628

I live in an area where the majority voted Remain.
