THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

surely you meant Claude de Brolly who took over as concierge at Lloyds when Mahatmacoat finally retired after several decades of loyal service

ExecLine - 02 Jun 2014 16:06 - 41798 of 81564

Hmmm? Have you seen these?

But I do see where you are coming from, cynic, and the resemblance may even be quite close. However, I am not really sure and the bloke you mention could well have been Claude Rains or even Mawigma Gown.

Fred1new - 02 Jun 2014 17:19 - 41799 of 81564

GF.

Fair article.

The Con party and followers are soused in cheap old reds, they can't afford the Burgundies on their salaries.

Living in the past comes to mind.

What a "leadership".

Hear Cameron call out the other night call, "Rebeka, my kingdom for a horse!"

AND THEIRS MORE FRED..............................................

goldfinger - 02 Jun 2014 17:26 - 41801 of 81564

Just look at this..........

Meanwhile this morning’s Populus poll had figures of CON 32%, LAB 37%, LDEM 10%, UKIP 13%. While that doesn’t look notable at first sight, Populus tend to show some of the lowest Labour leads, so five points is actually the largest they’ve shown since February.

goldfinger - 02 Jun 2014 17:27 - 41802 of 81564

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I say.........................................

in Ashcroft’s normal weekly GB poll which has topline figures of CON 25%, LAB 34%, LDEM 6%, UKIP 19%: a nine point Labour lead and a chunky 19 points for UKIP.

goldfinger - 02 Jun 2014 17:28 - 41803 of 81564

A 9 point lead for labour and coming from a Tory Pollster.

Camoron is in deep trouble.

Very deep trouble.

Fred1new - 02 Jun 2014 17:33 - 41804 of 81564

It would be amusing if the G/election after next, Farage refuses to allow Wailing Dave a discussion with leaders of the main parties on TV.

=======

How is wee Alex getting on.

Is Cameron still hiding behind the fence?

goldfinger - 02 Jun 2014 18:27 - 41805 of 81564

I notice the tory brigaide are very quiet tonight. I wonder why.

Fred1new - 02 Jun 2014 18:53 - 41806 of 81564

They are drunk on Dave's success already!

8-)

Haystack - 02 Jun 2014 19:30 - 41807 of 81564

Ashcroft did say it might just be a blip,

Tories set to hold Newark

Monday, 2 June, 2014 in By-elections
Newark

By Lord Ashcroft

The Conservatives are on course to hold onto Newark in the by-election on Thursday, according to a poll I have conducted in the constituency. I found the Tories on 42%, with UKIP second on 27% and Labour third on 20%.

sangatte refugees
on The One Show this evening, there was an appalling left-wing bleeding-heart telling everyone what a terrible time these refugees were having, when all they wanted to do was to get to uk, which they saw as the Land of Gold

1) Who asked them (moroccan and algerian in the main i'ld guess) to sneak into france?

2) Why the hell should we in uk have any sympathy for what are clearly just economic refugees?

3) Why doesn't france look after its own problem, perhaps by booting them back whence they came?

this has to have been wonderful advertising for all standing to the the right of attila
is it any surprise that NF got voted massive power a week or so ago?

ExecLine - 02 Jun 2014 19:48 - 41810 of 81564

There are tons of UKIP voters, and I am one of them, who don't necessarily want us to come out of Europe. However, we do want a renegotiation on our Terms of Membership.

Damn it! The UK signed up to join the Common Market and not to have 75% of our Laws dictated to us by an unelected bureaucracy in Brussels.

Tony Blair has been speaking out very strongly for us to stay in. And he is probably right about it. But nevertheless, we do want a lot more say about the Terms.

Perhaps Cameron and the Tories would do better in the Polls if he were to speak and the Tories were to behave a lot more convincingly and openly about what it is, that they want to change. Until they do so, what they do say, is just so much rhetoric and it's unconvincing because we've heard it all before.

Haystack - 02 Jun 2014 19:57 - 41811 of 81564

I agree. A common market is what we want and not a United States of Europe. Voting for UKIP will get you none of what you want.

ExecLine - 02 Jun 2014 21:49 - 41812 of 81564

There's voting for UKIP - Done. And it did get me what I wanted.

And voting for UKIP - Not done. And no intention of doing it either because I agree with you.

MaxK - 02 Jun 2014 21:50 - 41813 of 81564

Voting Nu Tory (Dave style) wont get it either!

Stan - 02 Jun 2014 22:09 - 41814 of 81564

Good grief Alf's watching the one show now -):
