Nexus Managements Resilience Tech launches new corporate network security product
company news image
Nexus Management PLC (AIM: NXS) said its wholly owned subsidiary Resilience Technology Corp has launched its new corporate network security product, the '9100 Small Appliance for High Security Requirements'.
This appliance allows organisations to ensure high levels of security, compliant with corporate standards, but at a much lower cost compared to products currently available in the market, it said.
The product is tapping into the market of companies aiming at extending their corporate-level security standards across their respective networks, at whose endpoints they are facing higher critical security needs, particularly banks, power utilities and retailers.
To date, the costs of extending corporate level security standards across a network have been significant and in many cases prohibitive, Nexus said, adding: Now customers can choose to run a full firewall license, Websense v7 content filtering, or other Linux-based security applications, in a small low cost unit, providing high levels of performance and guaranteed uptime.

rumoured contract that uk analyst is talking about here is the product which nexus management 100% own.utility contract coming Resilience Announces The 9100
The Small Security Appliance for High Security
Cambridge, MA August 8, 2009
Banks, Power Utilities, MSSP's, & Retailers all have critical security requirements and end points that are underserved by partial UTM solutions and router based security. To date it has been very expensive to extend the full version of the corporate security standards across the enterprise. Without real security, ATM machines continue to use expensive lease lines, power sub stations rely on DC powered products and the MSSP's & Retailers require lower cost solutions that meet corporate standards. These customer driven requirements have helped Resilience develop the latest extension of our security appliance family, the 9100 Small Security Appliance for High Security needs.
"With the release of the 9100 Small Security Appliance" reports Sean Scott, Resilience CEO "customers literally get a 'far out' solution by extending their standard corporate security platform anywhere on the planet in a plug and play secure platform."
Now customers can choose to run a full firewall license, Websense v7 content filtering, or other Linux based security applications on a small box, giving them affordability, performance, rock solid uptime, and the low operational expense they expect from Resilience. Customers with serious operational expense reduction initiatives can now extend their standard corporate security products and policies to the remote areas of their networks with the 9100. Customers still benefit from the low touch Resilience RES/OS operating system and Integrated High Availabilitytm or they can run on a partner provided OS.
The 9100 Security Appliances are available for immediate delivery in AC power configurations and the DC power options will ship in November. The single and duel core options support all of our partner products while meeting a range of throughput requirements from 300mb for VPNs and firewall speeds of up to 2Gb. Websense v7 Web Security is always bundled with RES/OS and supports up to 2500 users.
MSSP's are adopting a strategy where they deploy a single vendors open architecture security platform in order to drive down multi vendor inventories and the Total Cost of Ownership associated with supporting complex environments. The Resilience standards based approach to purpose built, security appliances helps service providers by delivering feature rich, cutting edge solutions, faster and at lower costs than the competition.
About Resilience Technology Corporation
Customers that select Resilience are part of a global clientele benefiting from a wide range of network security appliances. As a customer you are protected since security is inherent in the design of our network appliances. Customers also reduce the risk of implementation and migration through a simpler, unique approach to support. Since our founding in 1995, you have helped us develop and grow and it is Resilience's goal to become the market leader. We look forward to many more years of solving your network security problems with innovative, cost-effective solutions.

Press Release View all Collaterals of Resilience Technology Corp.
Title: DU-COMM makes the move to Resilience and Websense 7.0
* Press Release
* Comments (0)
Release Text:
Cambridge, MA -- Scott Klein from DU-COMM, a consolidated 911 dispatch center located in DuPage County, IL, has been looking for a set it and forget it appliance. Before Mr. Klein contacted Resilience he was operating Websense version 6.3 on an outdated Dell PowerEdge server that was slow and had reached its end-of-life.
"Servers arent cheap" so Mr. Klein was hesitant to make a decision that was going to be more work and less reward. Mr. Klein was adamant to find a plug and play appliance that was going to solve all his needs without breaking the bank.
Mr. Klein compared Resilience to a new Windows server and a Websense appliance from another vendor. The Windows server required additional support from a patch standpoint, and the other appliance required proxy settings on every box, reports Mr. Klein. In addition, we had real concerns over down time resulting from the Windows Updates. Both options required constant management and were the exact opposite of what Mr. Klein was looking for.
After doing a final analysis, DU-COMM selected the Resilience security appliance for Websense and moved to the latest Websense release version 7. Resilience was compelling for its ease of use and plug and play operations. DU-COMM is now managing all policies in one place, reported Mr. Klein. No more worries over policy access from remote servers, no proxies to set, and no more Patch Tuesdays! Best of all I havent touched the Resilience appliance since the installation.
Overall, I have been very pleased with Resilience. They offer a real appliance.

Consolidate Performance Critical Applications
and
Cut Platform TCO in Half
With VPEP Appliances from Resilience, IT managers can now consolidate even their performance critical applications and save more than half of the total cost of platform ownership without sacrificing performance or security.
Software and Hardware Consolidation. VPEP uniquely consolidates both software and hardware, supporting multiple instances of applications on a single multi-core server, with only one copy of each application and one copy of the operating system. As a result, VPEP reduces software management cost (roughly 50% of the total cost of platform ownership) as well as hardware-related costs. With VPEP, you can save as much as 80% of initial platform costs and 55% of total cost of platform ownership over a five year period.
VPEP Overview
Equal or Better Performance. VPEP enables applications to take full advantage of multi-core processors, and can accelerate throughput of single-threaded applications and even certain multi-threaded applications. It is not hypervisor or virtual machine technology, which introduces a layer of emulation software (and possible security vulnerabilities) and can degrade application performance by up to 60%. Instead, VPEP software manages existing system resources automatically to achieve the desired purpose whether the objective is to maximize throughput per instance, support the highest volume of application instances per processor core, or ensure an optimal mix of highest performance for select users and the most cost-effective support of other users.
VPEP technology provides the best solution, and perhaps the only viable means, for consolidating multiple instances of performance critical applications dramatically reducing initial and ongoing platform costs while ensuring equal or greater application performance. Tis very strange why people do this and waste their time. Do they really feel that people will be deceived into buying such crap? I think by now all members of a site such as this are intelligent enough to make-up their own minds and won't feel the need to be led by such a dillusional ramp.
Of course the reason they do it is simply to keep the header at the top of the boards and therefore they don't care that the news is out-of-date. I appreciate that I have just done likewise. However, now that I have had my say I shall post on here no more.
