ENVESTA TELECOM A NEW BEGINING (EVS)

DarthVader
The trouble is that there is nothing much positive to say about EVS. Previous threads have just been a series of ramps and stock hypes.

advans - 24 May 2005 14:57 - 43 of 1643

darthvader, there will have to be an interim period to ensure everybody filters him out. Look at Guru's last post on thr Dark side, Hay has not posted there for a while yet he is still the subject of a post. Once enough people take on board that this thread HAS to be different to survive, we will have a haystack free BB.

He is now permanently filtered by a few, and we have every chance of accomplishing it as people sign in.

Haystack - 24 May 2005 14:59 - 44 of 1643

LOL

Delusions of grandeur!

peteark - 24 May 2005 14:59 - 45 of 1643

I am sure 99% will agree and filter the chod.....I have asked the question in regards to the next reporting date, however I am unsure if I will get an answer....how you feeling Ad any better?

Haystack - 24 May 2005 15:01 - 46 of 1643

The type of business that EVS is in, is a high risk proposition. There is nothing wrong with the company and its products all look good. It is the valuation that I have trouble with. They cannot carry on with their current margins for ever as the cut price call market is being squeezed from several directions.

You only have to look at web sites like

http://niftylist.co.uk/

to see how cheap calls can be.

Many people on this BB and the Traders' BB are using www.18866.com and www.1899.com for their calls. Several people who have companies are also using them for cheap international calls, cheap UK calls and cheap calls to mobiles.

The web site http://niftylist.co.uk/ gives even cheaper calls to some places than 1899 and 18866.

EVS have a new part of their company called Cheaper Call Rate. It is cheaper than BT and some call companies, but nowhere near the cheapest. Cheapness of calls is the prime mover in the cheap call market. How successful CCR becomes s anyone's guess at the moment.

NIFTYLIST is for the NUMPTIES

CCR have an uphill battle to gain any serious market share. Even AOL are now offering a service for 7.99/month and you get to call all UK landlines for free. This is just one of dozens of special deals that will be coming out very soon. This is a cut throat businss with margins getting tighter all the time. The very ease of use of the CCR service is also its potential downfall. You can switch away from CCR at a moment's notice.

Dear AOL Member,

We've got some great news for you. As part of our commitment to deliver the best value to our members, we are delighted to announce the launch of AOL Talk, our new home phone service.

AOL is extending the unlimited philosophy that we apply to our Internet services to our new home phone service. AOL Talk allows you to make unlimited phone calls to UK landline numbers for 7.99 per month and is only available to AOL members.

The BBC2 program about VoIP last Friday was interesting but only scratched the surface. It covered Skype, which I think is a bit of a novelty but also Vonage which is more of a serious provider. There are dozens like that around. You don't even need a call provider to use VoIP. If you have a downloadable soft phone or an IP phone then you can connect for free is you know the IP address of the other person. The call operators effectively give your IP address a phone number. I could give you a huge list of VoIP operators that can be used from your PC or with an ATA adaptor you can use your own normal phone over broadband wtihout a PC. This is a very dificult market to make money in long term.

advans - 24 May 2005 15:04 - 50 of 1643

Are there any aim listed companies that manufacture 'Throaties'? Now would ne a good time to buy in! The swating seems to have slowed a bit but the old voice is still missing! Rang the missus earlier, she thought it was a dirty phone call!!!!

Haystack - 24 May 2005 15:04 - 51 of 1643

Even calling cards is not such a good business any more. I see 5 calling cards on sale for 3-50 or three for 9-25 in newsagents shops everywhere now. I have even seen a few doing them at 3 each. The margins for the orginator of the calling cards is now tiny. Out of that 5 card for 3 has to come the profit for the newsagent and the carrier. What was a good business over the last couple of years is now this year much more competitive.

The market for IP services to corporations is now much more difficult. BT alone are now huge providers of VoIP to companies. It was two years ago now that BT converted the whole of Abbey's branch network telephone system to VoIP. In the long term it will be the major carriers that survive and not the small players like EVS.

QUINAN - 24 May 2005 15:05 - 52 of 1643

That feels a lot better and I like the word squelch! I dont mind opposite opinions to EVS as long as it factual where as haystacks comments clearly are not.

britshare - 24 May 2005 15:07 - 53 of 1643

CUT & PASTE, CUT & PASTE, Mummy I'm having so much fun, look I can cut & paste like a big boy!

advans - 24 May 2005 15:07 - 54 of 1643

Britshare, that's quite funny. I can't see what he wrote, but now I know from your post. What a breath of fresh air not being able to see what he is saying. Squelch him out mate! Responding to him just don't work!!

peteark - 24 May 2005 15:07 - 55 of 1643

britshare could you follow the only rule of the thread and squelch Mr H.............thanks mate

advans - 24 May 2005 15:09 - 56 of 1643

Quin, it feels a lot better knowing we can all do this from day 1, rather than try to get the old thread to all work together on it.

There is bound to be a few that reply but it is pretty crystal clear now that any response is wasted!

Haystack - 24 May 2005 15:10 - 57 of 1643

Please do and then I can post what I want without adverse comment. What a breath of fresh air (instead of hot air).

Haystack - 24 May 2005 15:13 - 58 of 1643

One of the problems with this thread is thatadvansuk and peteark are here. They are both well known rampers from the 'dark side' and not to be believed about most things.

Advansuk likes to post web site hit statistics to be able to pretend that CCR is getting lots of business. Of course we all know that they are just web site hits and nothing more.

advans - 24 May 2005 15:16 - 59 of 1643

Pete, I think we need to be pretty rigid about this and perhaps insist that the squelch is a prerequisite of posting on this thread. It's a bit dictatorial, but to ensure we achieve a good, troublefree thread, it needs to be done.

At the end of the day, 99% of the posters would love to see Haystack gone, so those who pander to him will extend his annoyance to all on here.

Perhaps a list of people who are not prepared to filter him should be put at the top of the header and they too filtered?

Do you think that is going to far? I really would like this thread to be as good as the old one was before he appeared!

Haystack - 24 May 2005 15:19 - 60 of 1643

LOL

britshare - 24 May 2005 15:20 - 61 of 1643

If you filter me, I'll tell my Mummy on you. Right, I'm tellin'.

Mammmaaaa, he squelched meeeee.......
