Chaco Resources(CHP)- new oil play (CHP)

grevis2 - 21 Oct 2004 12:55

LONDON (AFX) - Chaco Resources PLC said it is proposing the reverse takeover
of two Paraguayan companies -- Amerisur SA and Bohemia SA -- from Candey SA and
Daniel Sztern in exchange for 27,322,404 new ordinary shares in the company.
It also plans to raise up to 750,000 stg before expenses in a placing of
36,585,365 new ordinary shares.
The company's shares were suspended on Sept 3 and it said it expects this to
be lifted today. It has called an EGM for Nov 15 to approve the acquisition and
placing plans.
Amerisur holds two oil and gas prospecting permits in Paraguay and is the
registered applicant for exploration and exploitation concession contracts over
the same permit areas. Bohemia holds registered applications for an oil and gas
prospecting permit in Paraguay and for an exploration and exploitation
concession contract over the same area.
The exploration areas covered by these three applications comprise a total of
approximately 48,000 square kilometres of the Curypayty and Parana Basins.
Chaco said these basins extend respectively into Bolivia and Brazil, where
commercial oil and gas production has been established for many years from
similar geological sections.

Sharesure, Are you about? I assume matters are the same, nothing new, price still holding up well.

Sharesure - 28 Sep 2005 15:07 - 421 of 2227

Stewart, Position is still the same; guess we all just have to let them tie up these deals as soon as they can. I am sure they have every incentive to want to get them finished.

dibbles - 28 Sep 2005 15:11 - 422 of 2227

Are directors still in Columbia, if so they must have a lot to iron out?
Still waiting patiently & considering top-up today.

stewart3250 - 28 Sep 2005 15:26 - 423 of 2227

Sharesure, Thanks for that, its a pain but I am happy to wait have held since they were 2.93p, now average about 5.5p so cannot complain.

I thought that article in The Times read very well, very surprised it did not attract more buyers or move the SP, by the way hope you did not mind my email.

Sharesure - 28 Sep 2005 16:24 - 424 of 2227

Stewart re email, not at all. It is frustrating having to wait but it seems WDBM are still soaking up stock.Being insiders they wouldn't do that if they were in the least worried about this being anything but great news. It would be nice if the delay has been caused by the deals being more extensive than they are reckoned to be. Roll on getting confirmatory news of even the 3 areas that are believed to be involved.

blackdown - 30 Sep 2005 07:30 - 425 of 2227

Odds on they are going to make an announcement (whatever the news is) at the AGM.

cleverclogs - 30 Sep 2005 08:13 - 426 of 2227

blackdown,

I don't think they can do that. Price sensitive info has to be given to the market first. So maybe on the morning of the AGM but not at the AGM.
Surely the board would not want to go into an AGM knowing they have to watch every word they say so as not to breach FSA guidelines. The AGM would also be an ideal time to welcome and introduce Graeme Stephens to the fold.
Got to be sooooooooon............

News today would be welcome or the weekend will seem very long!

cleverclogs - 30 Sep 2005 08:53 - 429 of 2227

Sharesure,

Are you hearing anything ref the announcement being before the AGM? It would seem a pointless meeting without the biggest news in the companies history to 'chat' about! I'm confident of the outcome (15p-25p) and am prepared to wait but God it's getting tedious!!!!!
These 7am starts are killing me!

Mind my ignorance, when is the AGM date.

stewart3250 - 30 Sep 2005 12:32 - 433 of 2227

5 October, next Wednesday

TheMaster - 30 Sep 2005 13:03 - 434 of 2227

Thanks Stewart3250, think Cleverclogs is right to state any news will have to be released to the market before the AGM, company staff must return from South America by this date, so Monday's the day for expected RNS.

Bugz - 30 Sep 2005 13:06 - 435 of 2227

Roll on monday then! :)

MPH, WDBM still soaking up stock?

M_P_H - 30 Sep 2005 13:17 - 436 of 2227

Bugz, yes WDBM is still high bid @ 8.2

He's scooping it up!

bodeng - 30 Sep 2005 14:19 - 437 of 2227

Roll on Monday then if thats the day!

doughboy66 - 30 Sep 2005 16:24 - 438 of 2227

Very little trading this afternoon, maybe there will be a bit more action in the last few minutes of trading.I would of thought if things were that imminent there would be more action ?

Sharesure - 30 Sep 2005 16:28 - 439 of 2227

My contact says that the key people are still in Sth. America working on the deals but are pulling out the stops to get it finally tied up earlier than the AGM. You can be certain that WDBM know exactly where this deal is at and if they are still high bid then they are confident that the outcome will be as hoped/forecast.
I have no intention of selling any CHP shares this side of the AGM.
