Today is International Day of The Very Good Looking, Beautiful and Damn
Attractive People, so send this message to someone you think fits this
description.
Please do not send it back to me as I have already received over fifty
thousand
messages and my inbox is jammed full. Some of you will have received this
message in error, you know who you are.

Ah poochy - Sister getting married...A hair cut is a fair
investment for such an occasion!! Is this a quiet wedding or
a penguin suit job?
I'm not a formal person but I know it's what
many do choose to have. Well enjoy it!!!
So how are we all? Zarif good to see you around again - on the
coffee rather than tea today? Sounds serious...

has left me feeling feeble!
JeffMack - It's supposed to be good when you're busy - so they
always say - only problem is it never feels that great to be up
to your eyes in work. Get some decent R&R when you can!!
Snoball - Don't need curlers, my ears are naturally curly at the ends

Hi everybody,
Just had an interesting conversation( about 3pm) with a rep from MCI technologies (Star Trader) selling an EOD software for Uk stocks.Aparrently this software takes care of everything -you dont need to know ta etc and the usual price for the software is 5800 plus vat -but they are doing a market promotion at 2800 plus Vat9plus 18/pth EoD data feed) and you have to pay the other half at end of year ( but if u have not madea profit than that is waived). Sounds too good to be true -AND i am sure it is.Any way i politely said dont ring me i will ring u back!!!
Anybody out there use them or any news about them ???

ps: it also begs the question that if this thing is next to sliced bread -then why are they spending time trying to sell in on the old dog and bone.!!!!!

Hello all, sorry I'm late. Chap at work wrote his car off, he let his wife drive it. It's true it's true, it's the way you say it that counts.

I had the chance to be a cockle picker but turned it down for someone in greater need. I didn't want to appear shellfish.

zarif, be very careful of MCI technologies. Someone tipped me off about them last year and told me they traded under another name in Australia. I think it was on the ADVFN BB. Make sure you research them well! I'm dead serious mate.
Anyway anybody who recokons they have a trading system that wins consistently and hugely is being optimistic in the absolute extreme.
It can't be done. Not for 2800 anyway.
I should add that they were doing the same promotion then.
I doubt it is as good as your version of Metastock. I'll sell you some Metastock code for the Dow for 2.80, yes,2.80, which you can pay me when it gives you a winner.
Edited later:
zarif this is from 18 Aug 2003:
MCI are owned by Tomato Technologies of Australia.
Their website: http://www.tomatotechnologies.com.au/about_us.htm
The Star Trader software costs 5800 + VAT, so it must be good.
The system can turn 1500 invested to 30,000 in a year.
The special deal is that for a limited period it is being offered
for 3407.50 deposit, the balnce of 2900 to be paid when the 30,000
profit is realized. If the 30,000 is not forthcoming then the balance
of 2900 will be waived.
MCI's website: http://www.mcit.biz/uk/mo/

Another extract from the BB:
Snip from the Guardian Wednesday July 16, 2003
Is this mailshot too good to be true?
Q I have been sent a mailshot from MCI Technologies Ltd offering Star Trader software for 5,900 + VAT, half to be paid after profits of 30,000 have been made on the stock exchange. Obviously I am suspicious.
The literature says that of 10 alerts, two on average will make a 10% loss, eight on average a 15% to 25% profit. If true I need never work again!
Do you have any knowledge of the firm and its software?
JS
A I think it's safe to say that this one falls into the category of 'if it looks too good to be true, that's because it is too good to be true.'
Firstly, MCI Technologies Pty Ltd should not be confused with MCI Technologies, the French company which produces insulation and acoustic materials for the building industry, nor with McI Technologies, Inc, the US IT firm.
No, the provider of Star Trader software is a very separate entity. It was previously called Micro Corporation, or Microcorp, and has a lot of dissatisfied customers in Australia, where the software was marketed under the name Blue Chip Trader.
As I haven't personally tried out the Star Trader software, I can't say how well it works - but in a global economy where professional fund managers and share traders of many years standing and who have exhaustive resources at their command have struggled to make much profit from the stock market over the past three years, I seriously doubt whether this product can live up to its boasts.
I reckon - even given the relative instability of the financial markets - you'd get a better return on your money if you invested it.
