Beckham only training with Spurs. Redknap said there were insurmountable insurance issues, so playing for Spurs was not an option now.

Due to the current finacial problems surrounding a lot of football clubs at the moment, Manchester United have had to release 15 members of staff from their payroll.
The 5 referees and 10 linesmen are said to be devastated.

I see that Fifa are making a mess of the Qatar world cup.....ok they won the bid that's one thing, but nobody in the right mind would have the world cup in a country with 40 to 50c in the shade....nuts...football is supposed to be played on a lawn in normal temperatures.....if this is the way that corrupt lot of the world body are taking our national sport then the best thing would to start a rival to Fifa.....I don't mean overriding them, but a body that could get stronger and stronger and perhaps one day be in a position to force an overturn of the crackpot decisions that have come out of that farcical lot....now some people want to hold the competition in the winter...others in june....frankly there is no way you can play in 50c in the shade or even train.....and I can understand football managers not wanting it in january....

why not a body that overrides them ?
as for the jan idea - there's no chance - too much disruption for european leagues in particular.
best thing to do imo is to simply boycott the whole thing - why bother playing ? let them all have an entertaining alcohol free month in the desert and I'm sure that most of us will be able to find something better to do
don't let corruption pay

A team including Iker Casillas, Maicon, Gerard Piqu Carles Puyol, Ashley Cole, Cristiano Ronaldo, Xavi Herndez, Wesley Sneijder, Andr Iniesta, Lionel Messi and David Villa, coached by JosMourinho with more than 400,000 fans is worth noting.

I'm sorry Chelsea back in form MY ARSE! Only one team played football on that park today and they were wearing blue. Everton blew it in my opinion because Moyes has lost the plot, okay Saha did the job and got the breakthrough, great, now take him off and put Beckford on straight away. No chance give him the last ten minutes and what happened produced the save of the match. Sooo frustrating for Everton fans playing good football with no end product, got to give Beckford more time on the pitch, Saha is class but we probably won't see him next week due to another innocuos injury tying his boot laces. To sell Piernarr to Spurs, arguably the engine of the Everton team, scandulous especially because he will probably sit on the bench for Spurs for the next five years. Goodison half empty today I wonder why?
