How would you like to trade a market where you get large regular price swings every 10 minutes in the afternoon, seven days a week. A
market where all prices are set purely by supply and demand, few transaction costs, no middle men and you only pay commission if you win? Where you can freely act as a market maker and where you have direct market access and where you can create a spread for others to take?
Betfair has revolutionised the betting market and created an open platform for exchanging risk on sports events. This market is now viewed much more like a traditional financial risk market than an old fashioned betting market. Smart users have realised that there are huge opportunities on Betfair because they can buy and sell risk in much the same way they would in a normal financial market but without the burden of cost or the restricted access that is usually associated with traditional financial markets.

It's funny you say that, If Southampton draw Carlisle out in the following rounds or in the FA CUP be very afraid indeed.

Re : That Liverpool trade, It would appear watching the momey is a good tactic. The trade stuck out like a sore thumb.
ptholden, I didn't see the market so not sure what the rules were but some matches do not go inplay so would have been suspended at kick off.

The Rosenborg match didn't go inplay, hence the suspension. Feeling my way around this at the moment, but backed Rosenborg to win so no harm done, would have preferred to green up though, rather than watching Steau Bucharest mount a late comeback!!

pth,
If you're unsure, you can click on the Rules tab and that will tell you if the match is in play or not.

Many thanks, found that out after I had placed the bet and wondering why it was suspended!
Is there an easy way to work out the mathematics of greening up?

Yes: take your line profit and divide it by the lay odds. If you lay-off the result at the lay odds you used you will be covered in green.
That's the basic idea but to do it justice I recommend a day with Scrip on 29th September.

All green on every champions league match for this evening so going to crack open some wine and enjoy. May be tempted into the market as well depending on what I see.

Evening all
First time ive looked at prices for a long while:
tonights footie - arsenal still odds on despite being 1-0 down - looks way to short to me (as an arsenal fan!) - fulham the outsider of the 3 potential results
cricket - not going to see much of the first 2 days as due to move on friday and still got way too much to do - personally dont like to get involved until ive seen a pitch report prior to the start and see who wins the toss. If England win the toss and bat would be looking to lay the Aussies if the price gets to or below 2.00 (which it is likely to do if the aussies take an early wicket). Draw price of 2.74 looks ridiculously low unless there is a lot of rain forecast (havent looked at it yet).
