United reduced to long balls to Failannie, Moyesy would have been so proud! £270million, nothing another £100 million won't fix eh. Arf. :o)

Chris Carson - 11 Jan 2015 18:41 - 4226 of 6918

Southampton fans are truly grateful to Liverpool, United and Spurs, without them they wouldn't have signed a great Dutch manager!

LOL! I enjoyed that Southampton win as well. :-)

Chris Carson - 11 Jan 2015 18:59 - 4228 of 6918

My wife is a United fan db (she comes from Preston, figures) I'm in the dog house for cheering when they scored. :o)

Some things are worth being put in the dog house for ! Woof, woof.:-))

Utd, not one shot on target. I thought Falcao (left out yesterday) was beginning to come to terms with the premier league.

Did someone say "shot on target"? http://gfycat.com/CrispVictoriousChamois

LVG, Please dump 352, at least until you have defenders capable of bringing the ball out, the attack is suffering; and put Rooney up front.

Sticking a lump up top late on isn't unique to Manchester United; the snooty bunch Arsenal shove Per M forward, Barcelona use Pique - do Everton employ Jagielka? The worrying thing is the last 20 minutes were like the Fulham game under Moyes; it seems to be the default mode when teams have struggled to break down the opponent - they become blind to the opportunities to get to the line and cross with the defenders facing their goal.

Moyes didn't learn, over to LVG.

Shooting; it is becoming like Arsenal - Rooney had plenty of chances yesterday but delayed trying to find a killer pass.

Fantasy football; Austin or Ings? Austin has better points per game, Ings has better fixtures - next 4 or 5.

Cheers,
KidA

Kid,

If you want to know about improving at scoring goals and defending then I suggest you watch Burnley these days, they seem to be getting better at both, and that's despite injuries to the smallest squad in the Division.

It's remarkable to see it happen on a weekly basis.

What a fabulous football match at Upton Park this evening. Good Luck to the Hammers in the next round. :0)

Concentrate on the league then CC -):

Proud of the team tonight Stan, it was a great match with a cruel ending. Barkley has to be dropped from the team for his own benefit. We still have the EL but consistency in the Prem is more important and has to be the priority.

Burnley manager Sean Dyche says English football has been "brainwashed" into playing down its qualities and has called for the country's emerging stars to be given greater encouragement.

Dyche claims "shining lights" such as Danny Ings and Harry Kane are under-appreciated compared to foreign stars.
"I think we're all guilty of it at some point," Dyche said. "We've all been brainwashed by it, that we're not as strong nationally. We've just got to be careful."

Re: Man Utd 'not having one shot on target'.

IMHO, play seems all a bit too frantic with a massive mystic belief and reliance amongst the players and importantly too, the manager, on 'the only way to score is to hit the ball first time'.

Of course, if you can hit the ball perfectly and accurately when you hit it first time, then all good and well.

But they can't. Their passing is crap and their shooting is crap too.

I am not too convinced about van Waal's managerial ability at the moment. He is always seen writing down statistics and notes.

1. How can he miss this stuff. It's blatantly obvious to me.
2. Importantly, why doesn't he tell them to at least steady up at least a smidgen and try to control the ball better.
3. I wonder what these guys do in training? Do they practice stuff enough?

Thinks....

Perhaps they need to get young Romeo Beckham in. He seems to be 'doing it' for Burberry.

Tottenham vs Burnley FA Cup team news.

There’s more third round FA Cup action this evening when Tottenham take on Burnley. It looks as though Emmanuel Adebayor could make the starting lineup for Spurs while Burnley’s captain Jason Shackell could be out.

For tonight’s FA Cup third round replay recent lineup it’s thought that Tottenham Hotspur’s Erik Lamela is in doubt while Michael Duff could be making a return for Burnley.
