zarif, be very careful of MCI technologies. Someone tipped me off about them last year and told me they traded under another name in Australia. I think it was on the ADVFN BB. Make sure you research them well! I'm dead serious mate.
Anyway anybody who recokons they have a trading system that wins consistently and hugely is being optimistic in the absolute extreme.
It can't be done. Not for 2800 anyway.
I should add that they were doing the same promotion then.
I doubt it is as good as your version of Metastock. I'll sell you some Metastock code for the Dow for 2.80, yes,2.80, which you can pay me when it gives you a winner.
Edited later:
zarif this is from 18 Aug 2003:
MCI are owned by Tomato Technologies of Australia.
Their website: http://www.tomatotechnologies.com.au/about_us.htm
The Star Trader software costs 5800 + VAT, so it must be good.
The system can turn 1500 invested to 30,000 in a year.
The special deal is that for a limited period it is being offered
for 3407.50 deposit, the balnce of 2900 to be paid when the 30,000
profit is realized. If the 30,000 is not forthcoming then the balance
of 2900 will be waived.
MCI's website: http://www.mcit.biz/uk/mo/

Another extract from the BB:
Snip from the Guardian Wednesday July 16, 2003
Is this mailshot too good to be true?
Q I have been sent a mailshot from MCI Technologies Ltd offering Star Trader software for 5,900 + VAT, half to be paid after profits of 30,000 have been made on the stock exchange. Obviously I am suspicious.
The literature says that of 10 alerts, two on average will make a 10% loss, eight on average a 15% to 25% profit. If true I need never work again!
Do you have any knowledge of the firm and its software?
JS
A I think it's safe to say that this one falls into the category of 'if it looks too good to be true, that's because it is too good to be true.'
Firstly, MCI Technologies Pty Ltd should not be confused with MCI Technologies, the French company which produces insulation and acoustic materials for the building industry, nor with McI Technologies, Inc, the US IT firm.
No, the provider of Star Trader software is a very separate entity. It was previously called Micro Corporation, or Microcorp, and has a lot of dissatisfied customers in Australia, where the software was marketed under the name Blue Chip Trader.
As I haven't personally tried out the Star Trader software, I can't say how well it works - but in a global economy where professional fund managers and share traders of many years standing and who have exhaustive resources at their command have struggled to make much profit from the stock market over the past three years, I seriously doubt whether this product can live up to its boasts.
I reckon - even given the relative instability of the financial markets - you'd get a better return on your money if you invested it.

Snoball - u r quite right regarding MCi and that is precisely i got them off the phone by saying dont ring me i will ring you!!!!. When somesone says to you that u will make 30K without any knowledge etc its asking to be taken for a ride.
The reason i put it on BB was so that in case anyone comes across the same animal then they will recognise it and know how to deal with it.Metastock is brilliant- and its thanks to you that i got it.

Being a grafter in the aviation industry, I have to point out that I have not yet come across a Boeing that went up and did not come down again either in a controlled manner or an uncontrolled crash!
Having passed on that note of caution, it's time for a bucket of sherry trifle. I might even pop a cork to attract Vasey.

AHT behaving like socks Boeing!
The bank balance is behaving in a similar manner. 'She Who Thinks She Should Be Obeyed' dragged me off for a day's clothes shopping and bought FOUR complete outfits + extras. That is her pay rise from her recent promotion gone! That is about the number of new outfits that I would buy in four years.

So we're all betting on Kiplings word............IF....?
Been dazzled recently with TIG & PRM, do we need this heart pumping stuff I ask myself?
YES,YES,YES,YES,YES,YES,YES,YES,YES.................................
Think I'll stick with it until I see a 10% fall then I'm outta there.....
I think
Just finished Bob Wilsons Autobiography, super read, very well written.
He's had his share of heartache; book has a lot of sadness but I now have huge respect for him. Funny how we get folk wrong on a little knowledge.
I'd recommend it to everyone.

Kipling...ah the writer and cake maker (I'm kidding!!)
Talking of such I'm off to the stockwatch room again with
another tray of choc. eclairs - it's comfort food, as it
looks decidedly (exceedingly) like I missed the ULVR boat this morning...
But still standing packed and waiting on the quayside just in
case it comes back!!!!

Hils, me too, thanks.
TDWaterhouse had a 'news alert' showing but it said sod all, so I relied on the old shower.
Not sure exactly what all this means apart from apparent need for cash and subsequent dilution that goes with third party involvement????
Trouble is, if it all goes 'nipples up' it will, in all probability, bomb.
Guess its our call; watch, guess, read, digest and help each other....please!!!

That's me going home for the day...picking up my suitcases
to return again tomorrow and see if another ULVR boat is sailing
towards 555p....even 551p would do...not fussy...(much!)
Have fun people and be lucky!!!!!!!!!

Hello, is it morning yet?
I see BT are about to take out one of my dogs, TRC. I thought they might be worth more than 15.5p but that's all I'm going to get, c'est la vie.
