THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Rooty yes hes a relation of mine.

Fred1new - 13 Jun 2014 15:05 - 42449 of 81564

GF,

Paragraph 8,

Do we still have more than a gunboat left?

I thought Cameron and Osborne had flogged the rest to pay down the UK debt and bolster exports, which should improve with higher interest rates etc..

Fred1new - 13 Jun 2014 15:11 - 42450 of 81564

GF,

Cons don't apologise.

That is part of their indoctrination.

I wonder if we could have an enquiry about what is taught at Eton.

Think there is some far right indoctrination carried out there!

Cut their tax relief, charity status and subsidies at the expense of the poor tax payer!

Haystack - 13 Jun 2014 15:11 - 42451 of 81564

Rates have always been based on bedrooms etc. It is nothing to do with Thatcher or Poll tax. Poll tax was based on working age occupants.

goldfinger - 13 Jun 2014 15:11 - 42452 of 81564

Im led to believe Fred we have 2 cariers but no planes to put on them.

I think Teresa May as her eye on them as provision for floating prisons when the Riots start this summer.

Problem is Boris's cannons dont fire that far, so I understand Theresa is secretly negotiating with Call Me Dave to set them up as temporary fountains to be sited in Trafalgar Square.

cynic - 13 Jun 2014 15:14 - 42453 of 81564

i sometimes despair of you two numpty comedians :-)

fred - i know you tease, and no i didn't go to eton, but it really is a very very good school indeed even if badly and sadly maligned by you lefties with severe shoulder-chips

goldfinger - 13 Jun 2014 15:14 - 42454 of 81564

The Rates were the brain child of the tories the fore runner of the poll Tax , so their you are, you have admitted the Tories invented the bedroom tax.

Your just playing with words hays.

Forget anything H/S has to say today if I was you, as he's posted this twice within a couple of hours on here.

"I an just having a messy lunch of chicken fajitas at Chez Bob in Belsize Park, Hampstead. Those food bank customers should lunch here, much nicer. The white wine was excellent."

I would have some more food with that wine if I was you -):

hilary - 13 Jun 2014 15:34 - 42456 of 81564

At least it makes a change from the repetitive drivel you've been posting recently about going to live in the Shetlands (or wherever it was) then!!!

goldfinger - 13 Jun 2014 15:35 - 42457 of 81564

One of these prisoners on the run, serving a LIFE SENTENCE.

Just been on radio 5.

89 escaped in total.

Oh dear Theresa what on earth are you doing !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Haystack - 13 Jun 2014 15:37 - 42458 of 81564

Domestic rates based on your property has been around for many years before Thatcher. I used to pay it in the 1960s. As far as I know it has been around since before WWII.

cynic - 13 Jun 2014 15:38 - 42459 of 81564

i do wish you'ld try to post stories accurately for a change

One of these prisoners on the run, serving a LIFE SENTENCE.
when did he escape?

89 escaped in total.
over how many years, and how many in each year subsequently?

Haystack - 13 Jun 2014 15:38 - 42460 of 81564

Haystack - 13 Jun 2014 15:39 - 42461 of 81564

goldfinger - 13 Jun 2014 15:42 - 42462 of 81564

Yep rates were forerunner of Tories Window Tax.

goldfinger - 13 Jun 2014 15:45 - 42463 of 81564

cynic - 13 Jun 2014 15:46 - 42464 of 81564

tories weren't in power in 1696, and nor did they introduce its precursors, the chimney and the the hearth tax

cynic - 13 Jun 2014 15:47 - 42465 of 81564

no they have not!

to repeat 42437 .....
sticky - warped reporting of yours i'm afraid, though it is indeed an indictment of Ford's security .... below is the TRUE story!!

A convict on the run from an open prison is one of nearly 90 currently at large from the same jail.
Police have warned that David Blood, who absconded from Ford Prison in West Sussex on Thursday, may pose "a threat to the public".
The 48-year-old is one of the latest inmates to go on the run from the jail, with Sussex police revealing there are 89 convicts missing from Ford, including a number of murderers, and some who have been missing for years.

Haystack - 13 Jun 2014 15:48 - 42466 of 81564

Window tax was William III

Fred1new - 13 Jun 2014 15:48 - 42467 of 81564

Manuel,

P 42455

Best playing fields in London.

It is the academic curriculum, ethos and doctrines which worries me!

Some seems to have have percolated down to you.

You didn't have a girl friend there!

--------

GF,

He didn't want to serve a life sentence!

So he walked out!

The party of Law and Order comes to mind.
