THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

$120 and for how long?
i doubt the assertion, though it's not impossible, but long term, i doubt it very much, not least because the Saudis know exactly how to play the balancing game - which of course is in their own interests

goldfinger - 13 Jun 2014 19:06 - 42492 of 81564

A lot of ifs and buts Cyners, Cramer knows his stuff, I suspect short term he'l get it right.

Long term, care to read the tea leafs lol.

cynic - 13 Jun 2014 19:58 - 42493 of 81564

he's guessing too
in a worst case scenario, al qaeda (isis) take over southern iraq, but they still need revenue, and oil is that generator
however, it is the unrest, supported by outside agencies, that is the most damaging to regional stability and that is what causes so much concern

goldfinger - 13 Jun 2014 20:01 - 42494 of 81564

Iran going in is my big worry.

Haystack - 13 Jun 2014 20:08 - 42495 of 81564

Iran will stay out. The US will be doing airstrikes from carrier in the area. We may well help with air attacks.

goldfinger - 13 Jun 2014 20:50 - 42496 of 81564

Have they now said they will do it then Hays the US?......hoping so.

Haystack - 13 Jun 2014 20:53 - 42497 of 81564

Obama has said it may take a few days. I imagine that they have to designate targets. It could be cruise missiles or planes.

goldfinger - 13 Jun 2014 21:03 - 42498 of 81564

hmmmm the sooner the better.

cynic - 13 Jun 2014 21:04 - 42499 of 81564

iran is keen to re-join the fold as it needs to export oil to fill its exchequer

Haystack - 13 Jun 2014 21:25 - 42500 of 81564

Iran won't be involved officially, but there are fighters streaming across the border. The terrorists have captured several large arsenals of weapons.

You reap what you sow...what a bunch of wankers we have in control.

Another excellent game (All Blacks vs England) but score at the end rather flattered England
Nevertheless, a lot still to play for next week .... I'll miss Tuesday's game as I'll be in Munich, but back for the last test in Christchurch

goldfinger - 14 Jun 2014 13:46 - 42504 of 81564

Munich? Nazi party political meeting?.

Yep all Blacks were a better side. Played far better than in first test.

cynic - 14 Jun 2014 13:55 - 42505 of 81564

but a really good, open and exciting match all round
excellent to see england far from overawed let alone overwhelmed, and both made a contrast to france vs australia, both of whom i thought looked very pedestrian

munich, where a major client of ours is based, is a really nice and fun city ....
but it's also worth remembering that Dachau is only 30 minutes train ride from there
i won't bore you, other than to say i visited there a few years ago and even i had to walk out about 3/4 way round

goldfinger - 14 Jun 2014 13:58 - 42506 of 81564

I havent been to Munich most other German citys though, i love Dusseldorf, fantastic holiday there 10 year ago with my then german girlfreind.

cynic - 14 Jun 2014 17:21 - 42507 of 81564

hamburg is surprisingly pretty but the populace do tend to be on the dour side .... i suppose given the pretty vile winters up there - it can be bitterly cold and damp and really nasty - it's not altogether unexpected

goldfinger - 14 Jun 2014 21:00 - 42508 of 81564

Full of porn shops and strip clubs. Not my cup of tea.

cynic - 14 Jun 2014 21:36 - 42509 of 81564

depends on the areas you frequent, though perhaps you have rather given yourself away .... st pauli is certainly very tacky but around binnenalster and the rathausmarkt (no silly jokes please!) is really very nice

goldfinger - 14 Jun 2014 22:17 - 42510 of 81564

Dont go on the Repeerbahn or you will have trannys chasing you.

Never ever, ever bend down.
