THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

UKIP and the BARMY CON right wing have stirred a hornet's nest, which "may" backfire on them!

House inflation rates at record levels.

Watch out tory boys this is last chance hotel before interest rate rises and cost of living getting worse and worse.

Davy as depleted his gravy.

GF,

It is very quiet!

Are Manuel and Haze packing their bags or just going into hiding.

==========

I was interested on Sunday reading Will Hutton when he pointed out that the "average"/ house "loan" from help to buy was £152,000 and the majority from outside London and S/E.

Interesting article "Interest rate rises will hurt, but are the start of sanity in housing"

UKIP and BARMY Right concentrating their venom on immigrants!

UMHH, will it produce a similar scenario to Iraq in 20years.

The Israelis are very quiet over USA and UK flirting with Iran!

Iraq's biggest oil refinery has now been shut down and all the foreign staff evacuated.

We are re-opening a UK Embassy in Tehran. This is about two and a half years since it was trashed and ransacked by a mob.

On a lighter note, Lloyds bank tell me, that if I shop at Morrisons and pay with my Debit Card, they will give me 15% Cashback (up to £15 max cashback).

The trouble is though, there is no one at Morrisons to handle the Debit Card, since they have today just fired everybody. Bummer or wot?

Quote: "Struggling supermarket chain Morrisons is to slash 2,600 jobs due to plans to streamline how its stores are managed. The supermarket is making these changes in a bid to improve the operation of its stores, some of which have seven tiers between the shop floor and the store manager."

Not sure whether they would fit me though, as I'm a tight arse.

Don't come back waving a peace of paper and claiming peace.

Remember what happened!

Re: The Morrisons pub conversion.

This type of conversion seems to be catching on a bit. Here's a picture of the Globe Hotel at Weedon, where the A5 crosses the Northampton to Daventry Road. Tons of interior has been removed and lots of 'RSJ's put in to hold up the upper parts, thereby opening up lots of the ground floor. This place is now a superb Tesco Convenience Store.

Here's a link to the article in the local rag, with a picture and mentioning the Tesco Express store opening and how it is also supporting the local community, who were coincidentally, 'up in arms' about it happening.

Actually, it is well worth a read to see how Tesco completely turned round, what was initially extremely bad publicity. They got the local school kids to open the place and donated £500 to the school:
