AT last i found some old notes from when i held DES in 2004 . Perhaps of interest is the fact that the log analysis from six wells drilled by Shell in the 90's- and which took 3 years to persuade Shell to allow the data into the public domain- indicates that within the deeper sand units of the syn -rift at approx 3400m a tad in excess of 165m of gas pay was present.Tantalisingly close to the Beth project Depending on flow and circulation this equates to approx .5- 7 TCF of gas. ln saying that it would take a find of between 5 and 8 TCF to justify the construction of an onsite LNG plant. Now theres the rub. Dare DES spend monies designated for drilling on such a plant .....Apparently Rockhopper has the only acreage with a truly recognised discovery at Johnson prospect; believed to be a very large gas bearing rock structure possibly 250 sq miles in area.

TFC : you'll send the stock flying again...I've been on about RKH's discovery for some time.....could be a sharp rebound again....

I assume if the DES RNS later this week is negative, the RKH sp will also suffer again? Worth waiting maybe???

TFC which is why we need DES to also find a very large gar bearing structure, the more of these found, the more total gas found, the more total gas found makes the total volume more "commercial".

I think DES have to issue an RNS to prevent the some media hacks trying to cause more damage to the stock price over the weekend.
So hopefully we will get a holding RNS from DES later today to stop media speculation.

sp looking very weak today, which could be attributable to a number of reasons ..... at +/-40 i would have thought the downside to be pretty limited

can someone explain why TLW has reacted favourably to the following P&A rns .....
Oil and gas company Tullow Oil says the Likonde-1 exploration well in Tanzania has encountered thick sands with hydrocarbon shows.
The well, which is now being plugged and abandoned, is the first of a two-well programme within the prospective Ruvuma delta region.
Tullow says the encouraging results will be followed up with detailed technical work before selecting the next drilling location.
Exploration director Angus McCoss said, 'Likonde-1 is an encouraging well with follow-up exploration potential. The valuable technical insights gained are now being incorporated into our regional geological model to further evaluate this promising basin in Southern Tanzania.'
