Sequestor - 18 May 2005 15:57 - 4287 of 27111

rumours from ADVFN are about the worst thing to base investment on, its full of dodgy rampers, many from brokers-I know 2 personally,

hope i`m wrong, nice to trade though

g`luck.

bosley - 18 May 2005 16:01 - 4288 of 27111

sequester , i agree. that's why we do try to keep bullshit rumours off this thread, good or bad. but when there's a rise like today , without news, you have to expect the rumour mill to go into overdrive.

Chiva20 - 18 May 2005 16:02 - 4289 of 27111

True Sequestor you have to wade through a lot of dross to find anything substantial but something has to explain the leap - rampers aren't that influential. If there is any truth in the rumours we're staying up, if these rumours are false something very positive we don't know about is about to bless us with its presence. I can't wait.

jimmy b - 18 May 2005 16:08 - 4290 of 27111

I'll say again if you read the seo thread on advfn its like being in a lunatic asylem, all they do is slag each other off all day , so i take what i read with a pinch of salt.

wilbs - 18 May 2005 16:15 - 4291 of 27111

Totaly agree jimmyb. Most of them claim to be at work but how the hell can they do any work cos they are constantly posting and slaging each other off.
The SP has gone up for a reason and I don't belive its anything to do with them idiots!!
Time will tell.

Sequestor - 18 May 2005 16:23 - 4292 of 27111

oh totally agree lads, the price shot up- hope you all made from it.
I will dip in again if/when I see what the reason was

g`luck

belisce6 - 18 May 2005 16:38 - 4293 of 27111

this is wrong !!.....was not supposed to happen for at least a few more weeks.....(was hoping to get in for some more while it was closer to the 20p-mark)

hewittalan6 - 18 May 2005 16:41 - 4294 of 27111

anyone for a sweepstake on what might happen tomorrow? given todays events with more rumours than you can shake a stick at it could be anything on thursday!!

superrod - 18 May 2005 17:01 - 4295 of 27111

i have crossed swords with sequestor many times, but rarely because i disagree with his take on the market. ive had 2 goes at seo today and made nearly 600 quid to go with the other 3k ive made since 14.9p. i agree that its overbought unless REALLY good news is soon forthcoming.
a good sign in my experience is that it has maintained a very substantial rise at close.....i would have expected a lot more day traders closing than has been the case.
my ( small compared to you smart investors ) core holding remains.
i suppose its worth the punt on the basis of the rumour alone. as i said earlier, should the rumour be refuted by seo, there will be a bloodbath.
i will be buying again tomorrow i hope.

moneyplus - 18 May 2005 17:16 - 4296 of 27111

can't wait for tomorrow--I added a few today!

Chiva20 - 18 May 2005 17:26 - 4297 of 27111

Right I'll play your game Alan, I'll go for a 1.75 point rise tomorrow. Naturally hoping for more.

bhunt1910 - 18 May 2005 17:35 - 4298 of 27111

I am going away for 6 days from tomorrow - and I haven't a clue what to do.

Reason suggests that I should sell half

Greed says I should hold

Decisions, decisions

jimmy b - 18 May 2005 17:39 - 4299 of 27111

Can't you just phone your broker 2 or 3 times a day for a quote, thats what i do if i can't get to a pc, don't come back and it's 35p

Poverty - 18 May 2005 18:02 - 4300 of 27111

Rumour rumour rumour! There is a rumour going round that my knickers are blue - but until the RNS you lot can't be sure!!! Lovely to see such determined Blue for SEO today. If there is a big deal in the offing then these shares could really go fast fast fast!!!! There aren't a lot of shares around at the mo - SEO have been consistently bought for the last 5 months!!

Fingers crossed and hang on tight...!

pisces - 18 May 2005 18:08 - 4301 of 27111

Would the mm`s put the shareprice up on pure speculation or is a contract win immenent. There has been an uptrend in volume since 9th of may, but todays volume although fairly high isn`t unusual for stanelco.Rumours are fine for ramping but surely a jump like todays isn`t based on heresay alone. Have just moved my trailing stop loss up to 25p with the confidence of more rises tomorrow. Win, win situation.

Rumours & Shakers

Shares Stanelco added 3.5p to 27p as specialist small company site WatsHot.com reported market talk that the radio-frequency packaging group was set to announce a significant deal with US group Wal-Mart. The company has been trialing its tray lidding systems for pre-packaged foods with the supermarket group's UK unit Asda. Updates from the company so far suggested that the trial use of Stanelco's Greenseal environmentally-friendly packaging was progressing well. baza, i seem to remember you saying the same thing when you last went away!!!
poverty , i've heard that rumour too!!! blue suits you.:) i don't like the rumour mill , but you can't help getting excited when you have a rise like today. new highs all the way, strong buying everytime there was a dip. the only news has been the correction to yesterdays business wire news in usa. it now seems very probable that the asda thing is a done deal as i imagine it was seo who told business wire to correct their statement from 100 machines to 200 machines. but surely that alone cannot have been behind todays massive volume and price hike!!!! i wont comment on the remarks saying that seo are overbought as long term holders have heard this all the way up . it's usually followed by a comment along the lines of , all the good news is in the price, and then a sell recommendation. shares have printed this it twice before deciding seo was a buy!!!

Chiva20 - 18 May 2005 19:34 - 4304 of 27111

well said Bos

treikiman - 18 May 2005 20:49 - 4305 of 27111

I read this on one of the other boards, sorry not sure if it was AOL or II

'Got the news from across the pond last night its going to be Walmart announced on Monday and its going to be massive. Get in quick I got in 24.5 and when this news comes through Monday morning it will explode and my mates told me all conversions to be done in 12 months across the whole supplier network to Walmart.
My friend is over soon for training and they are taking on contractors too he told me they are advertising for 250 part timers on a years deal as its all in 12 months from signing the whole lot converted and that is talking thousands and thousands of machines.'

driver - 18 May 2005 21:08 - 4306 of 27111

Yes bos, we have heard baza say the same thing as before when he went away what does he expect us to say, sell, if you 1910 believe all you have been saying all this time then you do sod all.

Why are most of the posts today amazed at the sp rise because Im not, like I said on my earlier post that was totally missed, it does no cost the retailer any thing to take on SEOs technology it would not surprise me at all if there was a RNS on Monday to support this. May be other punters, (Investors) can see this.

Re posted.
I can see that the Wal-Mart rumor being justified although at this stage just a rumor we wasn't expecting it so soon, the reason it could be true is the unusual contract set up SEO have got them selfs into, instead of going cap in hand to the packers convincing them to take on the new technology they have gone to the retailers first. The retailers do not have to put up any money they tell the packing companies to take the new SEO'S technology and then pay the packers less. It's a win; win situation, the retailers, packers, and most of all us, brilliant.
