SUPERSCAPE - TECHNOLOGY FOR THE FUTURE. (SPS)

Happy1 - 03 Mar 2004 22:47

Superscape was founded nearly twenty years ago, and has been dedicated throughout its history to the development of ground-breaking software technology for the creation and delivery of innovative, high quality interactive 3D applications.
Over the years, Superscape has amassed unparalleled expertise and experience in the development of 3D software capable of working within the constraints of limited memory devices, slow processor speeds and strictly controlled file sizes.

Drawing on this knowledge, Superscape has established a world-leading position in the development of industry-standard 3D technology and applications for mobile devices. The company's Swerve technology has been developed specifically for wireless environments in close collaboration with ARM, and comprises a 3D engine (Swerve Client), authoring tools (Swerve Studio) and a broad portfolio of 3D content, with particular emphasis on 3D games. Swerve is being adopted on a global basis by many of the mobile industry's leading players, together with world-renowned content and brand organisations.

Superscape has corporate headquarters in Hook, Hampshire (UK) and San Clemente, California (USA) with regional offices in Tokyo and Sydney. The company is quoted on the London Stock Exchange (LSE: SPS).

Superscape (SPS) has received various tips in the press and by Analysts recently which will certainly give impetous to the share price. Indicators are looking good with the RSI rising off an oversold position and the MACD crossing showing BULLISH signs for the stock.

The mobile gaming market is still in it's infancy but the projected revenue is enormous. Mobile operators are looking at tapping the Gameboy market as they feel that users will not want to carry around a multitude of technology and if they have a mobile phone which can double as a gaming station than people will prefer this option.

People should also look at the recent contracts which SPS have signed for their technology. This is a technology company which could well be a great success in 2004.

I have also topped up today...buy on weakness...SPS is cheap...just look at the numbers of top contract deals it has...thanks to IC, otherwise i wouldn't be able to buy at this low price.

mg, you mean add IC to your collection of porn mags? ;-)

sandrew64 - 25 Feb 2005 21:21 - 431 of 707

Last years results came out on 21 April. I rang them again as last time I rang they told me March and this time was told that April was correct. My apologies Kivver, I was misinformed.

news today

LONDON (AFX) - Vodafone Group PLC said subscribers to its third-generation mobile phone service have downloaded over 1 mln songs since the launch of its high-speed offering in November.

The mobile phone giant said it has also increased its catalogue of downloadable tracks to 500,000, compared to the 3,000 songs that were available when 3G services were launched.

'The initial response to the full track music service has been very encouraging and following customer research we have upgraded the experience further,' said Guy Laurence, Vodafone's Director of consumer marketing.

Lets hope games are just as popular, shows downloading is on the up.

Should we start to panic yet?

skids - 10 Mar 2005 11:03 - 434 of 707

Why should we?

paulgrip - 10 Mar 2005 11:39 - 435 of 707

no need to panic!!

willfagg - 10 Mar 2005 11:49 - 436 of 707

I am surprised that SPS have not issued a statement to calm the waters after SHARES comments that the revenues from games was only ever going to be small.

Kivver - 10 Mar 2005 12:17 - 437 of 707

Why? because they have dropped from 60p to 47p. no news about income, revenues or downloadable games pick-up. downloadable music has taken off, hope games do the same!! im staying in but must admit i would like to hear some good news.

willfagg - 10 Mar 2005 13:03 - 438 of 707

I agree with you , and I am still in, but i would have thought they would have refuted the comments.(it is a 20%price drop!...mind you thats not unusual for my shares)
Trouble is if I still believe in the share then i assess that at 45p I ought to buy some more!!!

skids - 10 Mar 2005 13:03 - 439 of 707

I think its just an opportunity to top up. There has been no news, so the drop is probably down to people pulling out that need the cash.

It will take time to get the revenue figures in from there global sales IMO. So its a case of being patient I think.

localsonly - 10 Mar 2005 13:14 - 440 of 707

Skids is spot on, the revenues given to SPS are delayed by some time so KR doesn't really know how things are shaping up yet for December and January. In essence, nobody really knows, the move is just small investors trying to second guess the games overall which is a tricky job, if it goes down to 42p then I'm in big style. he management will issue a trading update only if it is significantly different from expectations so assume that they are trading inline or thereabouts and make your mind up on the companies valuation from that point, the choice is yours as an investor, results are about a month away so trading volumes should start to pick up!

joehargan1 - 10 Mar 2005 13:16 - 441 of 707

In my view the board are mis-managing the investment community and should be much more proactive in updating the analysts and other investors on progress. They seem to be paying this no attention whatsoever and the sp is suffering badly as a result. I agree with being patient but a good company with good results would not allow such a long period to pass without issuing at the very least a trading statement. SP volatility is bad for the long term health of the company and investors view of the risk. If indeed they do have an investor relations strategy then we are seeing precious little evidence of this. I also still believe in the company potential but the silence is deafening (and harmful). Joe

willfagg - 10 Mar 2005 13:24 - 442 of 707

I agree Joe, but if you think back they were making announcements in the press about winning contracts and have just about all the top worldwide service providers signed up. There appeared to be an announcement every other day! I find the comparative quite a concern

SPS is one of those companies that report news in big blocks rather than snippets I'm afraid. I doubt they get bothered by small investors anger at no news. They have their eyes on the big institutions instead!

I'm sure news will come in bucket loads nearer or on results day.

cheers,

Good points both - I just got off a very bumpy flight from Miami so a bit grumpy on seeing the sp this morning. I do think there is a fair bit of healthy cynicism in the market around new contract wins and the proof of the pudding will be the actual revenues which should (barring surprises)be exceptional. SP instability like this is never good and I fear the sp is falling back into a new trading range that discounts all the progress made since the Evolution buy note (with a 58 pence target that was surpassed) started the sustained rally last September. That was without the benefit of the recent licencing deals announced to date in Q1. By all accounts at this level, this is currently a vastly underrated and undevalued stock. I'll keep the faith!

ssanebs - 10 Mar 2005 21:42 - 446 of 707

A close source to the company said that SPS did have a cash problem and would come to the market for more money with the results at the end of the month. The good news is the revenue numbers will be excellent, and ahead of forecasts, so this should overshadow the bad news. Saying that i sold 50k this morning at 45p...but will definately get back in on the news release

localsonly - 11 Mar 2005 08:53 - 447 of 707

They had enough cash for at least a year at the last results, if downloads are in line with expectations and revenues are increasing, this would then extend the cash base beyond that. Further, if they had a cash flow problem, I don't think the banks would let them buy the Russian developers, just my view, I don't believe in rumours!

ssanebs - 11 Mar 2005 09:22 - 448 of 707

This is not a rumour. wait until the results
