WTV WebCasting Services (WTV)

apple - 28 Oct 2004 13:05

This used to be called VTB.

They have fallen from about 3p since June & they reached 7p a year ago.

The share seems to be showing signs of life.

I've put a small amount in again as a big gamble.

This goes aginst what I usually do because it is an AIM share with a big spread but it's only a small amount just for fun.

World Television Group plc

Contract Win

World Television Group is delighted to announce that the UK Government's Foreign
and Commonwealth Office has announced its intention, subject to contract, to
award the British Satellite News (BSN) contract to World Television.

This contract, expected to run from October 2005, is for three years with a
further two year option period. There will be an uplift in value to fund
additional news story production compared with the previous contract. World
Television has been providing this service for BSN under a previous contract
which expires on 30 September 2005. The new contract was won against strong
competition from leading broadcast news providers following a demanding tender
process.

The BSN service provides daily news stories about Britain to around 440
broadcasters around the world, 5 days a week, 52 weeks a year. It is one of the
world's most successful public diplomacy news services.

Jon King, Group CEO, says 'This confirms World Television as one of the premier
news producers in the world. We provide the highest quality editorial and
technical service for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office which meets their
communication objectives and the needs of global broadcasters. Winning this
major contract is testament to the talent, production excellence and hard work
of our team. We look forward to the development of the BSN service in the
future.'

Hooray ! some good news at last ! (well sort of) Let's hope the SP gradually recovers from the current lows.... :)

Global Nomad - 08 Aug 2005 11:04 - 49 of 145

not quiet the gradual recovery we were hoping for!!!!! 33% in a morning..

lets hope it is at least sustainable, averaged down a little this morning, a bit late, but should help....trying to get it back to 6p to come good and reward the patience...

GN

skyhigh - 08 Aug 2005 11:16 - 50 of 145

Well, I'll settle for the "gradual" recovery now taking place..... I need it to get to 3.5p before I'm in profit.... I sold half my holding at about 6p before it bombed out. wish I sold it all back then... but... anyway it's looking much better now. hope to see good interims with good trading statement etc., :)

Global Nomad - 08 Aug 2005 11:42 - 51 of 145

here here

PapalPower - 08 Aug 2005 12:30 - 52 of 145

Interims about 6 weeks away now and they should confirm their goal of profits at year end in the outlook.

Global Nomad - 16 Aug 2005 10:31 - 53 of 145

only large buys this morning....1.12m buys in only 7 trades, no sells...looking good (or at least better!)

PapalPower - 16 Aug 2005 11:45 - 54 of 145

We should see a period of strength as they have talked about making profits, the results statement will be hoped to be positive so a lot of buys should come in into the lead up to this.

Chaps, as a lot of you know I have followed this share for 5 years.

I must say what is happening in the IR space at present is really exciting, what where competitors of WTV 12/18 months ago have now been swallowed up by the goliath THOMSON.

After watching the trading recently particularly Friday, I am convinced the MM's are filling a large order.

Have any of you thought for a second that at any time WTV could be in play?

Look at this, read page 51 last paragraph top section of the page:

http://www.thomson.com/cms/assets/pdfs/corporate/millennia.pdf

I am convinced WTV will be bought out in 2005 and recent events with netvision have only confirmed this for me. The fact that they are about to turn a profit only add to my belief of a bid some time soon.

Thomson's Netvision news release:

http://www.thomson.com/common/view_news_release.jsp?body_include=press_room/news_releases/financial/2005_08_22_Thomson_Acquires_neTVisionion=financial&secondary=pr_market_group&tertiary=financial&subsection=pressroom&title=%0A%0AThomson_Acquires_neTVision_in_Germany%0A%0A

The fact that our Directors hold key shareholdings only fuels my excitement. We can relax knowing we will not be sold on the cheap.

Also, remember the share juggling a few weeks back between the two founders?

Any views on this or am I barking up the wrong tree? Surely WTV would be the icing on the cake for THOMSON in Europe as well as having a perfect synergy in the asia pacific regions.

Something is happening, I can feel it in my water.

Out of interest in 2004 THOMSON made $120million a month

;-)))

Can anybody think of another possible suitor?

GG

iT DOES MAKE YOU WONDER???????????

BIZPACK - 08 Sep 2005 09:22 - 60 of 145

Thank you for that ffi.

The rumours still doing the rounds but there seems to be so little volume being traded, so I have my doubts and feel it could be just another false call.

skyhigh - 08 Sep 2005 09:37 - 61 of 145

Best not to raise one's hopes ! (long time WTV holder)

ffi7t87t87t - 08 Sep 2005 17:04 - 62 of 145

check this out off A D V F N

This was posted a few weeks ago, but I notice WTV haven't declared WELLA a new client, this seems to be some type of online training for hairdressers

http://cdn.world-television.com/Wella/292/o0017/de/html/frameset.html?browser=IE&streamTech=wm&streamQuality=300&streamFormat=video&ticket=290$292$2575&bcStatus=ondemand

It is very interesting as it shows the quality of the WTV production methods as well as the quality of its delivery platform.

It looks like there is a different type of training each month this year, so thats a new video production each month, that must be a fair few pennies, add the fact that WELLA are selling the DVD's, which WTV will more than likely supply and we are laughing.

Has anyone heard anything about the Thomson/WTV buyout rumours?
