Now that we all know what the prospects for MOS are i.e. damn good, thought I'd get a new thread going and just highlight MOS' attractions for any new investors.
Key highlights:
* Significant progress made, rationalisation programme almost complete
* Acquisitions integrated well
* International marketing network established
* Record order books, enquiry levels high, several new customers won
* Recent Director buys
From the Chairman's statement:
Outlook
Over the past year the management team has extended the product range, put in
place in-house manufacturing, rationalised the existing business and greatly
expanded the marketing effort, opening up significant new markets to MOS
products. Once the acquisitions have been fully integrated MOS will offer a
wider product range to a broader market and have a much reduced cost base. We
have record order books, we have attracted major new customers and we are
targeting new markets, worldwide. Overall, we have made good progress and the
outlook remains extremely positive.
Trading Update
MOS International PLC ('MOS'), the oilfield services company, announces that
trading is in line with market expectations. TURNOVER FOR THE YEAR TO 31st MARCH 2005 IS EXPECTED TO BE CIRCA 10M COMPARED WITH 1.05M IN THE YEAR TO 31st MARCH 2004.
MOS currently has an order book in excess of 7m for delivery prior to the year
end.
The recent acquisitions have integrated well, the rationalisation programme at
MOS is almost complete and that at Ansell Jones will be completed in this
financial year.
Tender and enquiry levels remain high and the Board is positive regarding the
future. Significant progress has been made and the business is well on the road
to recovery, with turnover forecast to show a further considerable increase, in
the next financial year.
On a turnover of 10million with a profit of say 1million, this company is on a P/E ratio of just 8 (market cap being around 8million at present). This company has been overlooked by the institutions and investors alike and is due a big re-rating soon IMHO. DYOR as usual.
Chad.

Cheers, chrissie. Let's hope we both get in where we want to! Be very happy to see you at 2-3p anytime this year. Then we can remind each other of the insignificance of this conversation. :))

Thanks Chad/Chrissie and others for this, I was perusing this for months and the threads on here helped me tip the decision to buy, looking to top up but will wait in run up to 28th when I may well recommend to some family & friends.
I rarely do this unless I'm sure of massive potential, to date only advised SEO/MMG last year and got both right for my folks, MOI could soon be my third recommendation.

bosley - thought you'd like to know I'm trying to skive off early this pm to get home and unwrap my new (2nd hand recon) Euphonium - someone had better warn the neighbours, God help 'em.
MOI certainly looks interesting, especially with you and Andy "GB" Smith on board already. Hope their still at this level for another week or so, so I can arrange the dosh.

How did you know my middlename begins with "G" ??
I've had a good run in 2005 with shares picked and bought in 2004 BUT I can remember the shite run between Feb last year when I first started and probably up until Christmas, thats why I havn't yet tipped any of my other recent holdings yet until I am sure it would be a good idea. My successes have been with stocks I really believed in and stuck by them, perhaps a lesson there as well as realising when you've got it wrong and get out.
My wife claims the credit for >200% on IDS though, her watching made me research and see that at 81p last year were under-valued on future projected earnings. Sold for profit this year at 237p and gave her some profit to go shopping!!

Andysmith - I know 'cos Chrissie just said so! lol
It's true - run your winners, stop your losses - given that timing the market is really a mug's game (if you believe you can, you're only fooling yourself) it has to add up to a winning strategy as all professionals tell you.
All professional traders are happy to win 55% of the time against 45% losses as a good level of achievement. Seems like only a 5% margin. BUT, and it's a big but, 200% profit X 55% frequency = 110%, whereas 20% loss X 45% frequency = 9%. Profits less losses = 110 - 9 = 101%. QED (no that's not another EPIC to research!)

Definitely don't believe I've cracked this lark, as you would agree only a fool would but its bloody good fun. Have lost more than won in terms of picks and these were stopped with loss or breakeven but when I have won it has been pretty spectacular and turned around 10-15% down last year into 100% up now on initial investment. As you say, the main lessons are when to stop your losses, when to run your profits and when to bank them. Nobody will ever get this totally right, you can only improve from lessons learnt and even then you can be at the mercy of the market and outside factors!! As for recommendations, I am a private investor trying to improve my wealth, people I advise are in the same boat (not loaded either) and I will only inform of something I strongly believe could yield good profits, the rest is up to them, apart from if they do invest I will also advise when I believe they should get out. To date, I've let nobody down, I havn't advised them of any of my duffers!!!

Very Very tempting Bos to top-up on this one, plenty of buys at what is in effect 33% above the placement price at the end of April.
I have a very good feeling about this one.

Does anyone know when the next AGM is due?
stockdog

after the next accounts - when are they? July/August? - so AGM October/November - must be roughly 12 months from last one which was 5th November 2004.

Some on advfn are saying there may be consolidation after the next AGM.
bosley

never been on advfn but , from what i have been told, it's difficult to distinguish fact from fiction there.
stockdog

consolidation doesn't change anything, except administrative ease of dealing with the decimal place which may admittedly have some minor effect on sentiment, alongs the lines that it is a more grown-up/reliable stock, rather than one that has sunk beneath an assumed minimum xp placing price.
