Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).
Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.
cheers GF.

Cameroon is doing a great job...mind you, the others are trying hard too.
Conservative party membership has nearly halved under Cameron
18 September 2013 8:45
134,000. That’s how many members the Conservative Party now has, according to Paul Goodman at ConservativeHome. Despite months of campaigning from the site, the only figure Conservative HQ would release is that 253,600 people voted for David Cameron as leader in 2005. Today’s number means that membership has nearly halved throughout Cameron’s eight-year term as party leader.
Tracking the memberships of political parties is difficult, as they are under no obligation to release any details. The House of Commons Library released a paper in December last year, compiling all the figures they could find. From this, this is how memberships of the Conservative, Labour and Liberal Democrat parties has dropped since the 1997 election:

a good biography for you to read .... The Valley by Richard Benson
it's about a mining family in Yorkshire from 1907 to about now (I think, for I haven't finished it yet)
even fred would enjoy it :-)
==================
actually, it's very sad indeed and certainly puts the closure of the mines in a different perspective
nevertheless, I'm afraid it was inevitable for all sorts of fairly obvious reasons

GF.
I am dubious about figures the con artist named Dave uses:
In the NHS he suggest there has been an increase in Doctors and Nurses.
What I would like to know is:
1) how many are part timers now compared with 2010?
2) how many are agency doctors and nurses?
3) what the costs of using the above?
4) how many hours they do?
5) how many doctors and nurses are employed in "management" roles compared with 2010?
------------
Membership of the present Con party
GUESSES
25% old etonians?
25 % bankers
25% Russian Oligarchs
10% Dubious Fund managers
10% Right winged editors. (Those not in clink.)
Remainder blue rinse brigade who haven’t join BNP or the Kippers.
Forgot Manuel and Hazy one!
How much have they donated to the Cameron rescue package ??
What are they getting for doing so?
What are they hoping to get from doing so?

We await response.
One of the problems with some agency staff is the don't have ongoing responsibility or loyalty.
While they have a role to play and it is useful for some to be able to plan or do limited hours the do cause friction and lead to a demoralisation of the permanent staff.
I question the cost/efficiency and effects on standards.

Meet the man Leon Brittan handed the lost VIP paedophile dossier to

(not satire)
In 1983, when he was Home Secretary, Leon Brittan was handed a dossier by Tory MP Geoffrey Dickens which included details of a VIP paedophile ring.
The file of course – we now know – then mysteriously went missing after Brittan said he “handed it to his officials” at the Home Office.
So who would those officials be?
Well, Brittan has already confirmed that the official who was with him at the meeting when he was handed the dossier was his PPS (Parliamentary Private Secretary).
And who was Brittan’s PPS at the time of the meeting?
Sir Brian Cubbon.
Sir Brian – although a former high ranking civil servant – has close links to MI5 and MI6.
In this document from 1999, Sir Brian is listed as a director of an MI6 front company called Hakluyt & Company.
And Sir Brian is also the official who was responsible for giving MI5 permission to tap the phones of leading CND activists in the 1980s.
And what is the relevance of the spooks involvement in the missing dossier?
Well, this is not the first time a VIP paedophile dossier has gone missing.
In the 1970s a special branch officer with Lancashire Police said a “thick” police dossier full of allegations from boys claiming they had been abused by Sir Cyril Smith went missing after an officer from MI5 told him it needed to be sent to MI5 headquarters in London.
It’s looking increasingly likely that VIP paedophiles – particularly those in Westminster – are being protected by MI5.
So don’t expect any arrests any time soon.

I think all Cameron's appointees should be vetted by an independent committee.
He seems unable to pick suitable individuals for himself.
(Or, perhaps, he doesn't.)
(But he does appear happy when they arrive in the dock, when of course he does stand by his friends. Pity he isn't in the dock with them!)

I have just read the July Spreadbett maq , and Anton Kreil says you need a minium of £10,000 to spread bet , saying 90% of retail investors lose 90% of their money in the first 90 days , and you should keep your margin at 5% to 3%
