When I said "here we go", I meant short. Oh well, Beebs. At least one of us will be right.

:o)

Beeblebrox - 16 Feb 2004 10:16 - 433 of 11056

Just playing my 10.00 Hils,
but not too confident today, trichet may spoil it, so tight stop as you can see,
welcome to the party dc,
the boys are long, the girlies short

Hils, your short from 188.75ish aren't you ?

hilary - 16 Feb 2004 10:23 - 434 of 11056

Beebs,

Indeed, on the spot, albeit that I was short March futs. I've just covered it because I'm about to go out.

Beeblebrox - 16 Feb 2004 10:27 - 435 of 11056

tennis time eh
play well, and i'll look after the kids on here.....

Beeblebrox - 16 Feb 2004 11:45 - 436 of 11056

Well what a turn up,
cable as boring as ftse.
15 mins to go, and hardly a failure of the 10.00 theory,
but certainly suffering from the frog effect. might get a bit more active pm.

dclinton - 16 Feb 2004 22:00 - 437 of 11056

Stop moved up to breakeven.

dclinton - 17 Feb 2004 09:20 - 438 of 11056

Some hot price action this morning. Added to my position at 1.8980, stop moved up to 1.8940. Already pierced 1.9000 and pulled back. Let's see if the 10 o'clock movement takes us up again.

Beeblebrox - 17 Feb 2004 11:11 - 439 of 11056

so far so good dc,
i was busy trading the ftse (badly) so didn't get the ride,
wish i'd followed my own advice of course.....

hilary - 17 Feb 2004 11:14 - 440 of 11056

And guess who's the muppet who longed it at 7am but came out too early because she thought it had gone up too steeply and thought that she'd get back in lower on the pullback. Doh. The writing was on the wall.

dclinton - 17 Feb 2004 11:19 - 441 of 11056

Stop raised to 1.9010. Keeping a tight stop as I'm not going to be able to keep an eye on this the rest of the week so looking to take quick profit today.

Any idea what Trichet said yesterday?

Beeblebrox - 17 Feb 2004 11:19 - 442 of 11056

strange hils, i was waiting for the pullback as well !
been watching the 7.00 am effect as well - quite strong just recently,
means getting up a bit earlier, catching worms et al,

now if i was long, i'd be moving up my stop, cos it's possible 190 may not hold,
you listening dc ?

Beeblebrox - 17 Feb 2004 11:20 - 443 of 11056

bloody amazing - telepathy or what,
you a gemini dc ?

trichet said he wouldn't be playing with interest rates to
weaken euro

hilary - 17 Feb 2004 11:23 - 444 of 11056

dc,

From AFX.

ECB President Jean-Claude Trichet did himself no favours, when he showed an apparent lack of concern over the euro's strength at the European Parliament economic and monetary affairs committee yesterday.

dclinton - 17 Feb 2004 12:05 - 445 of 11056

Stop raised to 1.9048. Bit of a pullback at the US open.

Beeblebrox - 17 Feb 2004 12:24 - 446 of 11056

small short 190.69, tight stop

dclinton - 17 Feb 2004 13:11 - 447 of 11056

Sometimes it works to your advantage that CMC dampen out the fast spikes in the prices. Should have been stopped out several times in the past 10 minutes but still in the trade.

Beeblebrox - 17 Feb 2004 13:39 - 448 of 11056

did they get you that time dc ?

dclinton - 17 Feb 2004 13:48 - 449 of 11056

Yep. Stopped out finally at 1.9048. Calling it a day. Got to get a train to Telford now :-(

hilary - 17 Feb 2004 13:52 - 450 of 11056

Nice result, dc. Well done!!

MightyMicro - 17 Feb 2004 14:49 - 451 of 11056

Hil,

[off topic]- have you resolved your "Terminal" problems?

Also pleased that I repatriated US corporate earnings last week at only 1.88.

Derek
