Please report bugs and enhancements (BUGS)

andy.lovell - 04 Nov 2002 11:26

If you're having any problems, or want to suggest some improvements, please post below!

Level2 changes
In the last few weeks we've needed to implement some code changes to make us compliant with the LSE's rules on the access of Level2 data.

The following requirement is now in place:
You can only use 1 program on 1 computer to access Level2 on MoneyAM using a single username.

This means that you are able to view as many Level2 windows using any one particular browser, or program, that you wish, however you will not be able to use both Firefox and Internet Explorer at the same time (the same goes for using Quote Tracker or TradeSeeker at the same time as viewing it using a web browser)

If you find you're being logged off of MoneyAM's Level2 with the message 'you've logged on from another location' then check the above and make sure you're not running any other programs at the same time before reporting this as a bug.

Forwood: Similar to a "financial BulletinBoard competitor", if a thread has more than 400 posts, it will not show a "All Messages" button.

Forwood,

Several people are reporting the fact that they're being invited to log back on well within the normal 8 hour time-out period. This is something that I believe has only started to happen in the last two or three days.

We're currently investigating.

Yes..I confirm that has happened on nearly every occasion following my first log in at circa 07.34 hours today. Also note that, every time asked to do this, it resulted from selecting pbb from am.com. Additionally, count on each thread = 100% (ie right hand count not reduced to reflect those posts that I have already read on earlier log-ins)...hope this helps toward locating your "bug".

It may also happen from user hitting the back button on pbb..takes you back to log-in (if earlier page!)..I ignore by hitting back button again to am, then click on whatever I require "stockwatch, trades, pbb etc"..this is bound to happen because it is the quickest way round (rather than scrolling back to top of pbb thread page) when you are busy trading and watching other data on other screens.

STOCKWATCH
There seems no option to open the News into a new window via the right click. It is sometimes more convenient to do this when busy . Could you give us the option?

I just took my life in my hands by driving to shops. I mitigated the risks due to the button by parking forward in large spaces and keeping to wide main roads. I also kept my eyes closed most of the time. I had trouble buying boxes of various food stuffs. I came home with a giant economy box of tea bags. That should last about three years. Strangely I found that I had bought a packing case of toothpicks (I must leave some to my relatives). I mistakenly drove into a 'yellow box' and nearly couldn't get out. Let this be a warning to anyone looking too closely at the top of these pages. Don't attempt any carpentry, don't lay any fitted carpet, don't drink boxes of wine and don't try and put dominos away without safety goggles.

Can AM get hold of US data before the rest of the market see's it? I know it's for sale from the US authorities at a reasonable price. One other trader has suggested that the data available is the US Michg. figs. I gladly pay a subscription for it.

I can't read the BB posts when using Opera 7 this evening. Everything was ok today up to 4:30pm. Using IE6 at the moment to write this. Also, it's been painfully slow at times today followed by a message that's reads sometime along the lines of *Can't connect to server at 128.0.0.0:xxxx*. What's happend?

AndyMoneyAM - 10 Jan 2003 19:15 - 448 of 7315

Jeroo,

Thanks for letting us know. The BB has temporarily been reverted to an older
version. When you say "can't read the BB posts" what exactly happens? Another user has reported that in IE 5 the body of the posts appears to have migrated to a long way off to the right (horizontal scroll to see it). Is that what's happening to you?

We're working at getting the new BB back in.

Same here. Presumably it'll be sorted by hardworking techies while we all go down the pub. Meanwhile, yes, all messages now appearing as vertical list of single words (ie one word per line) somewhere over on the far right. Horizontal scroll button is about 4mm wide within my 265mm bar and needs moving about 30% to find text.

AndyMoneyAM - 10 Jan 2003 19:23 - 450 of 7315

Juzzle,

Which browser and version do you use?

Is something awry with the 'Search' thingy? I was trying to find something I thought I saw yesterday about how to import market prices into an excel spreadsheet using web query. I put all the key words I could think of in the relevant box - but it said nothing was found. Obviously if I knew which thread it was on, I wouldn't have needed the Search facility......! If anybody finds it, please let me know!

Juzzle - 10 Jan 2003 19:26 - 452 of 7315

IE5,with W95 Andy
Normally OK.
Croc's header charts etc also thrown offscreen to similar extent.
BB list is unaffected, ditto message entry field. It's just the threads themselves wot have gone wonky.

Big Al - 10 Jan 2003 19:29 - 453 of 7315

At this point everything looks normal to me. XP & IE6 FYI

Jeroo - 10 Jan 2003 19:31 - 454 of 7315

Andy - Yes thats has happend to me but I thought everyone was being artistic and having fun - Doh! Initially the text appeared right justified, then nothing after a refresh.

When viewing the site with Opera 7, there is no message body replies at all in any of the BB threads. However, the first initial message at the top of the thread can be read but the replies are empty from message #1 onwards. This only happend late in the afternoon at around 4:45pm

I'm using IE6 to type this to you.
