Cardiff City: Bluebirds report £12m Premier League loss

By Rob Phillips
BBC Wales football correspondent.

Cardiff City lost nearly £12m during their debut season in the Premier League.
The club's latest accounts, for the year ending May 2014, also show the Bluebirds owe around £174m - most of it to owner Vincent Tan.
This was despite revenue increasing more than five fold to almost £80m.
The club's annual report says support from Malaysian investors "will continue" as long as "the business develops as planned".
The financial figures showed that the club's broadcasting and commercial income rose from from £8m to more than £70m.
Wages and salaries went up from just over £27m to £46m.

Severely IQ challenged Stan thinks they weren't fouls despite the overwhelming agreement of fellow players, pundits and ex refs

No hope for some

Stan - 27 Feb 2015 07:24 - 4355 of 6918

Clearly you are also in denial JS.

Dil - 27 Feb 2015 18:55 - 4356 of 6918

That 12 million is a paper loss due to a right down of assets. Also not included are the sale of Caulker , Medel and Mutch for around £20 million after the year end and a further 5 million due to us for tv rights.

Parachute payments and reduction in playing staff will see the debt reduce this year but who cares as its due to Tan not outsiders so if he puts us in administration its him that loses as net debt is about 81 million.

Happy days , more chance of Burnley going bust :)

Dil - 27 Feb 2015 18:58 - 4357 of 6918

Plus we don't pay interest on the loans from Tan which is what cripples most clubs. Have a look at the state of Bolton and they haven't got a billionaire owner to finance them poor sods.

"Happy days , more chance of Burnley going bust :)"... More chance of your lot finishing in the top half of the Trampionship more like -):

The world cup in 2022 cannot be as short as FIFA want : starting on 26 november, ending on 18th december : nuts !.....they are going to have to start at least a week before and of course move the FIFA world club competition that year.....it's not a bad idea having it in winter...(might suit british players for a change)....

The spirit of Don Revie lives on, well done Chelsea.

Stan - 02 Mar 2015 13:12 - 4365 of 6918

DR, but he was horrible wasn't he.

KidA - 02 Mar 2015 13:58 - 4366 of 6918

Tongue in cheek. Certainly not on Clough's Christmas list - mind, it was probably Cloughmas to him. Chelsea suss out the ref, weak or strong. If weak, hack down the opponent to stop them playing. Spurs should've sat back a bit more, make Chelsea have to play rather than give them the counter.

Cheers,
KidA

Chelsea are fast becoming another version of your lot -):

Dave Mackay snuffs it http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/31704507

Had some great battles with him and Spurs in the 60's when Burnley and Spurs were "the" teams.

You know : the biggest problem in the UK football world is overcelebration if I can put it this way.....in important matches players should not indulge in ridiculous hugs when the result is far from being decided......anyway...the Gunners are a complete mystery to me as to how it works at the Emirates....at times they look like amateurs....and then they play world class football !...baffling...really...(just love OX-CH).....have to say...(a must have for national team)...well done Arsenal....have to say I bet on Man U....

Chris Carson - 09 Mar 2015 22:06 - 4372 of 6918

What was refreshing tonight at Old Trafford was good solid no nonsense referring. For years the Mancs got away with murder, cheating moaning bastards. Well done Arsenal and Danny Welbeck!! Just make sure you rub it in and either yourselves or the Red Shite keep them out the Champions League :0)
