Part of the fun is working it out.

R33skyline - 01 Nov 2005 21:14 - 444 of 550

Ok i give up !

Haystack - 03 Nov 2005 10:40 - 445 of 550

You set up another champinvest account and make lots of silly trades to lose all the money. Your position gives you the number in the competition.

mackem - 03 Nov 2005 22:51 - 446 of 550

Any indication of how many playing the competition, the fact that the 250
leader board apart from the top 10 has 240 places within a 7 grand range
suggest there could be many thousands playing the game.

Come on ian, give us a idea of how many are playing ?

R33skyline - 05 Nov 2005 13:07 - 447 of 550

Cheers Haystack

There was me taking percentages of the top 250 trying to work out how many players could be playing at -10k and you have just proved the simplest idea`s are often the best.

Must remember KISS.....keep it simple stupid ..

packman7 - 05 Nov 2005 15:08 - 448 of 550

Ian, what is situation if company has a rights issue? No mention in rules for this scenario.

Haystack,

There's a huge problem with the method you suggested above of finding how many people are in the game:

The rules state:
To be eligible for prizes, each player may only have one entry in the game.

So anyone that's created an additional account to do that will have ruled them out of winning.

Using the mean average gain to date and graphing the known positions so far, then extrapolating the known results to forecast the mean average positon, thence doubling the position to give an idea of the end of the range leads me to believe I talk nonsense. But the end result is in the range of 840-860 players.
Close J?

Nowhere near, the last competition had over 2000 players
and this one seems more popular so i reckon 3000+ by the
end of it.

Bullshare - 10 Nov 2005 09:39 - 453 of 550

MPS consolidation at 125 to 1 about to happen!

Haystack - 10 Nov 2005 10:48 - 454 of 550

TullettJ (MoneyAM)
Only a problem if you are trying to win or a friend could open another account.

Haystack,

Surely everyone that's playing in the game wants to win?
